في مفاجأة غريبة، أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، احتفاظه بالنسخة الأصلية للقب بطولة كأس العالم 2025، في مكتبه البيضاوي.
وتُوّج تشيلسي الإنجليزي بطلاً لمونديال الأندية، بعد فوز ساحق على باريس سان جيرمان الفرنسي بثلاثية نظيفة، الأحد الماضي، على ملعب «ميتلايف» بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، في مباراة شهدت حضور ترمب.
وقال الرئيس الأمريكي في مقابلة مع قناة «DAZN» الناقل الرسمي لمباريات كأس العالم للأندية: «سألتُهم (يقصد فيفا) متى ستستلمون الكأس؟ قالوا: لن نستلمها أبداً، يمكنكم الاحتفاظ بها إلى الأبد في المكتب البيضاوي، سنصنع كأساً جديداً».
وأضاف: «فعلاً، صنعوا كأساً جديداً كان الأمر مثيراً للغاية، النسخة الأصلية موجودة الآن في المكتب البيضاوي».
وكان ترمب قد كسر البروتوكول خلال احتفالات فريق تشيلسي بتتويجه بلقب كأس العالم للأندية 2025.
وبعد تسليم الميداليات والكأس، طلب رئيس الفيفا من ترمب مغادرة منصة التتويج قبل بدء الاحتفالات، لكن الرئيس الأمريكي رفض المغادرة واحتفل مع الفريق الإنجليزي وسط ذهول لاعبي البلوز.
ويُعد هذا قراراً غريباً من رئيس الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، الذي خالف البروتوكول المعتاد بالسماح للفريق بالاستمتاع باللحظة مع بعضهم البعض، وخطف الأضواء منهم.
In a strange surprise, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he is keeping the original version of the 2025 World Cup trophy in the Oval Office.
Chelsea FC was crowned champion of the Club World Cup after a resounding victory over Paris Saint-Germain with a score of three goals to none last Sunday at the MetLife Stadium in the United States, in a match attended by Trump.
The U.S. President said in an interview with the official broadcaster of the Club World Cup, "DAZN": "I asked them (referring to FIFA) when they would take the trophy. They said: 'We will never take it, you can keep it forever in the Oval Office, we will make a new trophy.'
He added: "Indeed, they made a new trophy, it was very exciting, the original version is now in the Oval Office."
Trump had broken protocol during Chelsea's celebrations for winning the 2025 Club World Cup title.
After the medals and trophy were presented, the FIFA president asked Trump to leave the podium before the celebrations began, but the U.S. President refused to leave and celebrated with the English team, much to the astonishment of the Blues players.
This is a strange decision from the President of the United States, who violated the usual protocol by not allowing the team to enjoy the moment with each other and stealing the spotlight from them.
