كادت اللجنة المنظمة لبطولة كأس العالم للأندية 2025 تتسبب في إصابة حارس مرمى النادي الأهلي والمنتخب المصري محمد الشناوي، بسبب عدم التزامها بمعايير سلامة اللاعبين في ملعب «هارد روك»، الذي احتضن مواجهة الأهلي المصري ونظيره إنتر ميامي الأمريكي التي انتهت بالتعادل السلبي ضمن منافسات الجولة الأولى من دور المجموعات، فبعد تصديه لكرة من الأرجنتيني ميسي سقط الشناوي على قاعدة المرمى البارزة ليحبس أنفاس الجماهير المصرية، التي ظنت بأنه تعرض لإصابة بالغة في ضلوعه، وكان من اللافت وجود «مواسير ذات قطر كبير» مخصصة لتثبيت شباك المرمى من الخلف، ما شكل خطراً واضحاً على سلامة اللاعبين ومنهم حارس المنتخب المصري الذي كان معرضا لإصابة خطيرة بسبب تلك المواسير.
وهنا يبرز السؤال حول مدى ملاءمة المرمى في ملعب (هارد روك) لاشتراطات ومعايير الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) الذي يؤكد أهمية اختبار التحقق من خصائص أبعاد شباك المرمى، وطرق تثبيتها وفحص الحواف الخطرة، ويتطلب التثبيت الدائم أن يكون الدعم الرئيسي عبارة عن قاعدة مُثبّتة بشكل دائم مدفونة تحت الأرض لربط القاعدة الأرضية بالمرمى، وهذا ما غاب عن الملعب في مباراة الأهلي المصري وإنتر ميامي.
ورغم أن «FIFA» فرض قوانين صارمة لحماية اللاعبين داخل الملعب ومخاشنات اللاعبين وكذلك كل الأدوات المحيطة بالملعب بما فيها قوائم المرمى، لكن هذه المعايير لم غابت في ملعب هارد روك، بل يبدو أن الـ12 ملعباً التي تحتضن مباريات المجموعات الـ8، في 11 مدينة أمريكية غير جاهزة بعد تحويل «استادات البيسبول» إلى ملاعب لكرة القدم، إذ تعدّ خطوة مثيرة ومبتكرة تعتمد على تعديل بنية الملعب وتكييفه ليصبح مناسباً لاستضافة مباريات كرة القدم، ولذلك يجب مراعاة العديد من الجوانب لتحقيق هذا التحول لحماية اللاعبين في المقام الأول، فملاعب البيسبول عادةً ما تكون غير منتظمة الشكل مع أبعاد مخصصة للعبة البيسبول، لذلك يجب إعادة تخطيط أرضية الملعب لتتوافق مع الأبعاد القياسية لملاعب كرة القدم (100-110 أمتار طولاً و64-75 متراً عرضاً)، وغالباً ما تكون أرضية ملاعب البيسبول مصنوعة من العشب الصناعي أو خليط من العشب الطبيعي والتربة، وينبغي تركيب عشب طبيعي أو صناعي عالي الجودة لتوفير سطح مناسب لكرة القدم.
وتشهد بطولة كأس العالم للأندية هذا العام تطوراً كبيراً في شكلها وتنظيمها، وتقام للمرة الأولى بمشاركة 32 نادياً، وتأتي هذه البطولة لتعوض كأس العالم للأندية (القارات) السابقة، إذ سيتم تنظيمها كل أربع سنوات، على عكس نظام النسخة السابقة من البطولة التي كانت تقام سنوياً بمشاركة سبعة فرق فقط (أبطال الاتحادات القارية الستّة إضافة إلى فريق من البلد المضيف).
The organizing committee for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup nearly caused an injury to the goalkeeper of Al Ahly Club and the Egyptian national team, Mohamed El-Shenawy, due to its failure to adhere to player safety standards at the "Hard Rock" stadium, which hosted the match between Egyptian Al Ahly and American Inter Miami that ended in a goalless draw in the first round of the group stage. After saving a shot from Argentine Messi, El-Shenawy fell onto the protruding goalpost base, causing Egyptian fans to hold their breath, fearing he had sustained a serious injury to his ribs. It was notable that there were "large-diameter pipes" designated to secure the goal net from behind, which posed a clear danger to the safety of the players, including the Egyptian national team goalkeeper who was at risk of a serious injury due to those pipes.
Here, the question arises regarding the suitability of the goal at the Hard Rock stadium to the requirements and standards of FIFA, which emphasizes the importance of testing the verification of the goal net dimensions, methods of securing it, and examining hazardous edges. Permanent installation requires that the main support be a base permanently fixed underground to connect the ground base to the goal, which was absent in the match between Egyptian Al Ahly and Inter Miami.
Although FIFA has imposed strict laws to protect players on the field and to address player misconduct as well as all surrounding equipment, including goalposts, these standards were lacking at Hard Rock Stadium. It seems that the 12 stadiums hosting the matches of the 8 groups in 11 American cities are not yet ready after converting "baseball stadiums" into soccer fields. This is an exciting and innovative step that relies on modifying the stadium structure and adapting it to become suitable for hosting soccer matches. Therefore, many aspects must be considered to achieve this transformation to protect players primarily, as baseball fields are usually irregularly shaped with dimensions specific to the game of baseball. Thus, the field layout must be redesigned to comply with the standard dimensions for soccer fields (100-110 meters in length and 64-75 meters in width), and baseball fields often have surfaces made of artificial turf or a mixture of natural grass and soil. High-quality natural or artificial grass should be installed to provide an appropriate surface for soccer.
This year's FIFA Club World Cup witnesses a significant evolution in its format and organization, being held for the first time with the participation of 32 clubs. This tournament comes to replace the previous Club World Cup (Continents), as it will be organized every four years, unlike the previous version of the tournament, which was held annually with the participation of only seven teams (the champions of the six continental federations plus a team from the host country).
