أجبر راكب مثير للشغب طائرة تابعة لشركة «يونايتد إيرلاينز» على الهبوط اضطرارياً في ولاية ويسكونسن الأمريكية، وذلك بعد محاولته اقتحام قمرة القيادة وإثارة فوضى عارمة على متن الرحلة، مما استدعى تدخلاً أمنياً فيدرالياً عاجلاً.
وكانت الرحلة رقم UA2005 قد أقلعت يوم الجمعة 29 مايو من مطار أوهير الدولي في شيكاغو متجهة إلى مينيابوليس في رحلة اعتيادية تستغرق نحو ساعتين، وعلى متنها 147 راكباً وطاقم مؤلف من 6 أفراد. إلا أن الأجواء سرعان ما تشنجت إثر قيام أحد الركاب بالصراخ باللغة الروسية ومحاولة اختراق قمرة القيادة عنوة، مما أدى إلى اشتباك جسدي مباشر بينه وبين أفراد الطاقم الذين حاولوا السيطرة عليه.
وأمام هذا التهديد الأمني الخطير، أطلق قائد الطائرة رمز الطوارئ السري «7500» عبر الراديو، وهو الرمز الدولي المخصص للتنبيه من وقوع عملية اختطاف، مما وضع سلطات مراقبة الحركة الجوية والأجهزة الأمنية في حالة استنفار قصوى، وتم توجيه الطائرة على الفور للهبوط في مطار مقاطعة داين الإقليمي بمدينة ماديسون.
وفور هبوط الطائرة اضطرارياً، اقتحمت شرطة المقاطعة الكابينة وألقت القبض على الراكب واقتادته إلى الحجز تمهيداً لبدء تحقيق موسع تقوده السلطات الفيدرالية لكشف دوافع الحادثة. ومن جهتها، أكدت شركة «يونايتد إيرلاينز» سلامة جميع الركاب وأفراد الطاقم دون تسجيل أي إصابات، مشيرة إلى أن حركة المطار استؤنفت بشكل طبيعي بعد السيطرة الكاملة على الموقف.

Flight UA2005 took off on Friday, May 29, from O'Hare International Airport in Chicago heading to Minneapolis on a routine two-hour flight, with 147 passengers and a crew of 6 on board. However, tensions quickly escalated when one passenger began shouting in Russian and attempted to forcibly enter the cockpit, leading to a physical altercation between him and the crew members who tried to subdue him.
In light of this serious security threat, the pilot issued the secret emergency code "7500" over the radio, which is the international code designated to alert authorities of a hijacking, putting air traffic control and security agencies on high alert. The aircraft was immediately directed to land at Dane County Regional Airport in Madison.
As soon as the plane made the emergency landing, county police stormed the cabin and arrested the passenger, taking him into custody pending a comprehensive investigation led by federal authorities to uncover the motives behind the incident. For its part, United Airlines confirmed the safety of all passengers and crew members with no injuries reported, noting that airport operations resumed normally after full control of the situation was established.
