فرض المنتخب الألماني أفضليته منذ بداية اللقاء، وهدد مرمى منافسه في أكثر من مناسبة، لكن محاولاته لم تُكلل بالنجاح، بعدما ألغى الحكم هدفاً لـ«المانشافت» بسبب مخالفة على حارس المرمى، قبل إلغاء هدف آخر سجله كاي هافيرتز بداعي التسلل.
وعلى عكس مجريات اللعب، تمكن منتخب كوت ديفوار من التقدم في الدقيقة 30 عن طريق فرانك كيسيه، الذي تابع كرة مرتدة من الحارس مانويل نوير وأسكنها الشباك.
وفي الشوط الثاني، كثف المنتخب الألماني ضغطه الهجومي، ليعدل دينيز أونداف النتيجة في الدقيقة 68 بعد تمريرة عرضية متقنة من ناديم أميري. وبينما كانت المباراة تتجه للتعادل، عاد أونداف ليحرز هدف الفوز في الوقت بدل الضائع بتسديدة حاسمة داخل منطقة الجزاء.
ورفع الفوز رصيد ألمانيا إلى 6 نقاط في صدارة المجموعة، فيما بقي رصيد كوت ديفوار عند 3 نقاط في المركز الثاني.

The German team imposed its superiority from the start of the match, threatening the opponent's goal on several occasions, but their attempts were unsuccessful, as the referee disallowed a goal for the "Mannschaft" due to a foul on the goalkeeper, before another goal scored by Kai Havertz was ruled offside.
Contrary to the flow of the game, the Ivory Coast team managed to take the lead in the 30th minute through Franck Kessié, who followed up on a rebound from goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and put the ball in the net.
In the second half, the German team intensified its attacking pressure, with Deniz Ündav equalizing the score in the 68th minute after a precise cross from Nadiem Amiri. Just as the match seemed to be heading for a draw, Ündav scored the winning goal in stoppage time with a decisive shot inside the penalty area.
The victory raised Germany's points to 6 at the top of the group, while Ivory Coast remained at 3 points in second place.
