فرضت تحذيرات الطقس إجراءات احترازية على جماهير مباراة هولندا والسويد في كأس العالم، بعدما طُلب من المشجعين البقاء داخل ملعب «إن آر جي» في هيوستن عقب نهاية اللقاء، بسبب وجود صواعق رعدية في المنطقة المحيطة بالاستاد.
وذكرت وكالة «أسوشيتد برس» أن التنبيه صدر بعد دقائق من صافرة النهاية التي أعلنت فوز المنتخب الهولندي على نظيره السويدي بنتيجة 5-1، إذ جرى إبلاغ الجماهير عبر نظام الإعلانات داخل الملعب، إلى جانب ظهور رسائل تحذيرية على الشاشات العملاقة في طرفي الاستاد، تطلب منهم الاحتماء والانتظار إلى حين صدور تعليمات بالمغادرة.
ورغم إجراءات السلامة، حافظت المدرجات على أجواء احتفالية، إذ واصل نحو 68,777 متفرجاً، معظمهم من مشجعي المنتخب الهولندي، التفاعل مع الموسيقى والهتافات داخل الملعب أثناء انتظار انتهاء التحذير الجوي والسماح لهم بالخروج.
وأفادت التوقعات الجوية في محيط الاستاد باستمرار هطول الأمطار لنحو ساعة بعد المباراة، مع ترقب تحسن الظروف الجوية قرابة الساعة الثانية ظهراً بالتوقيت المحلي.
Weather warnings imposed precautionary measures on the fans of the Netherlands vs. Sweden match in the World Cup, after spectators were asked to remain inside the "NRG" Stadium in Houston following the end of the match, due to thunderstorms in the surrounding area.
The Associated Press reported that the alert was issued just minutes after the final whistle, which declared the Dutch national team the winner against their Swedish counterpart with a score of 5-1. Fans were informed via the stadium's announcement system, alongside warning messages displayed on the giant screens at both ends of the stadium, asking them to take shelter and wait for instructions to leave.
Despite the safety measures, the stands maintained a festive atmosphere, as approximately 68,777 spectators, most of whom were Dutch fans, continued to engage with the music and chants inside the stadium while waiting for the weather warning to end and for them to be allowed to exit.
Weather forecasts in the vicinity of the stadium indicated that rain would continue for about an hour after the match, with expectations of improved weather conditions around 2 PM local time.
