تمسكت المحكمة الفيدرالية الكندية بقرارها ورفضت التماساً قدمته الحكومة الغانية لمراجعة قرار حظر دخول لاعب الوسط توماس بارتي إلى أراضيها، لتتأكد خسارة منتخب غانا خدمات اللاعب في المباراة الافتتاحية للمونديال أمام منتخب بنما في مدينة تورونتو الكندية.
وتقدمت الحكومة الغانية بطلب لمراجعة القضية بعد رفض منح لاعب أرسنال السابق تأشيرة الدخول، وطالبت المحكمة بإصدار توجيهات لسلطات الهجرة الكندية تتيح للاعب تقديم طلب جديد، لكن محكمة أوتاوا قضت برفض الالتماس، لتتأكد مغادرته الحسابات الفنية للمواجهة الأولى في كأس العالم.
وتعود أسباب حظر دخول اللاعب، البالغ من العمر 33 عاماً، إلى الإجراءات الجنائية المستمرة بحقه في بريطانيا، حيث يواجه تم اعتداء بناءً على ادعاءات قدمتها 4 نساء في الفترة بين 2020 و2022، وهي اتهامات نفاها اللاعب تماماً، ومن المقرر أن يمثل أمام المحكمة في العام القادم.
