وعانق الجواد الياباني «فوريفر يونغ» إنجازاً تاريخياً جديداً، بعدما تُوّج بطلاً لكأس السعودية (فئة 1)، السباق الأغلى عالمياً، محتفظاً باللقب للعام الثاني على التوالي، في أمسية عالمية احتضنتها العاصمة الرياض، وسط حضور دولي لافت وأجواء تنافسية استثنائية.
إنجاز غير مسبوق.. أول بطل مرتين
وبات «فوريفر يونغ»، المملوك لرجل الأعمال الياباني سيسوما فوجيتا، أول جواد في تاريخ البطولة يحقق اللقب مرتين، مؤكداً سطوته على سباق يمتد لمسافة 1800 متر، أنهاه بزمن قدره دقيقة و51.027 ثانية، متقدماً بفارق 0.19 ثانية على الجواد «نيسوس».
وحصد فوجيتا جائزة المركز الأول البالغة 10 ملايين دولار من إجمالي جوائز الشوط الرئيسي التي تصل إلى 20 مليون دولار (75 مليون ريال)، فيما نال «نيسوس» 3.5 مليون دولار، وجاء «تومبارومبا» ثالثاً ليحصد مليوني دولار.
ليلة عالمية
وشهدت الأمسية حضوراً عالمياً عكس مكانة الرياض على خريطة الفروسية الدولية، حيث تنافست نخبة الجياد وأبرز الإسطبلات العالمية ضمن سباق بلغت جوائزه الإجمالية 36.9 مليون دولار.
ياهاغي يقود الأسطورة
وجاء التتويج بقيادة المدرب الياباني المخضرم يوشيتو ياهاغي، الذي أكد مجدداً خبرته العالمية في إدارة السباقات الكبرى، ليعزز حضور المدرسة اليابانية في أقوى ميادين الفروسية.
أبطال الأشواط.. تنوع عالمي على منصة التتويج
لم تقتصر الإثارة على الشوط الرئيسي، إذ شهدت بقية الأشواط تنافساً محتدماً:
• كأس الاتحاد الآسيوي للسباقات: ذهب للإسطبل «تحزيم» للمالك الأمير فيصل بن خالد بن عبدالعزيز.
• كأس عبية للخيل العربية الأصيلة: فاز «فيرست كلاس» بقيادة المدرب دوق واتسون والخيال كونور بيزلي.
• كأس طويق: توّج به مايكل سكوفيلد لأبناء الملك عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز بقيادة المدرب سعد الجنيدي والخيال أوشن ميرفي.
• كأس الديربي السعودي: حققه «الهرم» للمالك الشيخ عبدالله حمود المالك الصباح.
• كأس الرياض للسرعة: حصدها «أماجنيشن» بإشراف المدرب العالمي بوب بافرت.
• كأس 1351 (G2): توّج «ريف رنر» بقيادة إيراد أورتيز جونيور.
• كأس نيوم (فئة 1): فاز «رويال شامبيون» بجائزة 3 ملايين دولار.
• كأس البحر الأحمر (فئة 2): ظفر بها «سنيس آند لوفرز» بجائزة 2.5 مليون دولار.
الرياض.. عاصمة الفروسية العالمية
بهذا الإنجاز، يرسخ «فوريفر يونغ» اسمه في سجل البطولة بحروف ذهبية، فيما تواصل الرياض تعزيز مكانتها عاصمةً عالميةً للفروسية، عبر تنظيم سباق يجمع بين قوة المنافسة، وضخامة الجوائز، والحضور الدولي الرفيع.
Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and on behalf of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, awarded the "Forever Young" horse stable team the Saudi Cup 2026 trophy in its seventh edition, at the King Abdulaziz Equestrian Field in Riyadh, in the presence of the President of the Equestrian Club, Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al Faisal.
The Japanese horse "Forever Young" embraced a new historical achievement, after being crowned champion of the Saudi Cup (Grade 1), the most expensive race in the world, retaining the title for the second consecutive year, in a global evening hosted by the capital Riyadh, amidst remarkable international attendance and exceptional competitive atmosphere.
Unprecedented Achievement.. First Champion Twice
"Forever Young," owned by Japanese businessman Shisuma Fujita, became the first horse in the history of the championship to win the title twice, confirming its dominance in a race spanning 1800 meters, finishing with a time of 1 minute and 51.027 seconds, ahead by 0.19 seconds of the horse "Nisos."
Fujita received the first-place prize of 10 million dollars from a total of 20 million dollars (75 million riyals) in the main race prizes, while "Nisos" earned 3.5 million dollars, and "Tombarumba" came in third to win 2 million dollars.
A Global Night
The evening witnessed a global presence that reflected Riyadh's status on the international equestrian map, as the elite horses and top global stables competed in a race with total prizes amounting to 36.9 million dollars.
Yahagi Leads the Legend
The crowning was led by the veteran Japanese trainer Yoshito Yahagi, who reaffirmed his global expertise in managing major races, enhancing the presence of the Japanese school in the strongest equestrian arenas.
Champions of the Races.. Global Diversity on the Podium
The excitement was not limited to the main race, as the other races witnessed fierce competition:
• The Asian Racing Federation Cup: won by the stable "Tahzim" owned by Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz.
• The Obayya Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses: won by "First Class" under trainer Duke Watson and jockey Connor Beasley.
• The Tuwaiq Cup: awarded to Michael Schofield for the sons of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz under trainer Saad Al-Junaidi and jockey Ocean Murphy.
• The Saudi Derby Cup: won by "Al-Haram" owned by Sheikh Abdullah Hamoud Al-Malik Al-Sabah.
• The Riyadh Speed Cup: won by "Imagination" under the supervision of international trainer Bob Baffert.
• The 1351 Cup (G2): awarded to "Riv Runner" under jockey Irad Ortiz Jr.
• The Neom Cup (Grade 1): won by "Royal Champion" with a prize of 3 million dollars.
• The Red Sea Cup (Grade 2): won by "Sinis & Lovers" with a prize of 2.5 million dollars.
