حافظ الهلال على صدارته لمجموعة أندية «الغرب» في مسابقة دوري أبطال آسيا لأندية النخبة، عقب فوزه على فريق الشارقة الإماراتي بهدف مقابل لا شيء سجله النجم البرازيلي مالكوم في الدقيقة 81، في اللقاء الذي أقيم على ملعب الشارقة، ضمن مباريات الجولة السادسة من البطولة الآسيوية.
ونجح الهلال بالمحافظة على صدارة مجموعة أندية الغرب بالعلامة الكاملة؛ 18 نقطة من 6 مباريات خاضها في مسابقة دوري أبطال آسيا لأندية النخبة.
وفرض الهلال سيطرته على مجريات مباراته مع الشارقة الإماراتي من خلال النهج الفني الذي وضعه المدرب سيموني إنزاغي الذي نجح في قيادة الزعيم للفوز السادس على التوالي والمحافظة على صدارة المجموعة في البطولة الآسيوية.
