حمّل مدرب منتخب مصر لكرة القدم، حلمي طولان، مسؤولية خروج المنتخب المصري من الدور الأول لكأس العرب 2025، لـ«شخص واحد رفض تأجيل بطولة الدوري المصري، وكان السبب المباشر في حرمان المنتخب من سبعة لاعبين من فريق بيراميدز، وهو ما انعكس على النتيجة النهائية للفريق».
وعلق طولان في المؤتمر الصحفي الذي أعقب اللقاء قائلاً: «سمعة المنتخب المصري تعرضت للإهانة في هذه البطولة، وأنا كُلفت من قبل الاتحاد المصري ودون مقابل مالي».
وتابع طولان: «اخترت فريقاً ضم سبعة لاعبين مميزين كانوا موجودين معي خلال فترة الإعداد للبطولة، وحُرمت منهم بفعل فاعل. والكل يعلم أن الدوري لم يتوقف بسبب أن اللاعبين الذين اخترتهم يلعبون لنادي بيراميدز وهم مميزون، بينما الدوري يتوقف فقط لناديي الأهلي والزمالك».
The coach of the Egyptian national football team, Helmy Toulan, held "one person" responsible for the Egyptian team's exit from the first round of the Arab Cup 2025, stating that this individual refused to postpone the Egyptian league, which directly resulted in the team being deprived of seven players from the Pyramids team, reflecting on the final result for the team.
Toulan commented in the press conference that followed the match, saying: "The reputation of the Egyptian national team has been insulted in this tournament, and I was appointed by the Egyptian Football Association without any financial compensation."
He continued: "I chose a team that included seven outstanding players who were with me during the preparation period for the tournament, and I was deprived of them due to someone’s actions. Everyone knows that the league did not stop because the players I chose play for Pyramids, who are exceptional, while the league only stops for the clubs Al Ahly and Zamalek."
