دشن منتخبنا الوطني السعودي الأول لكرة القدم مشواره في كأس العرب فيفا قطر 2025 بالفوز على منتخب عمان بهدفين مقابل هدف، في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على استاد المدينة التعليمية بالعاصمة القطرية (الدوحة)، ضمن لقاءات الجولة الأولى للمجموعة الثانية التي شهدت أيضاً فوز منتخب المغرب على منتخب جزر القمر بثلاثة أهداف لهدف.
أحرز هدفَي المنتخب السعودي فراس البريكان (د:55) وصالح الشهري (د:77)، فيما جاء هدف عمان عن طريق غانم الحبشي (د:70).
شهد اللقاء سيطرة سعودية وسط تراجع عماني، واعتماد مدرب عمان كارلوس كيروش على الهجمات المرتدة، وكاد القائد سالم الدوسري يهز الشباك العمانية بعد كرة عرضية من نواف بوشل حولها سالم برأسه لكن كرته مرت بجوار القائم، وردّ منتخب عمان بتسديدة من كرة ثابتة نفذها علي البوسعيدي لم يتمكن المدافع العماني ثاني الرشيدي من اللحاق بها لتخرج لركلة مرمى، وردّ صالح أبو الشامات بتسديدة قوية لكنها ذهبت ليد الحارس العماني إبراهيم المخيني، وقبل نهاية الشوط الأول سدد ناصر الرواحي كرة قوية تصدى لها الحارس نواف العقيدي لكنها وصلت للمهاجم عصام الصبحي الذي أودعها الشباك لكن راية مساعد الحكم كانت موجودة ليتم إلغاء الهدف العماني.
وفي الشوط الثاني، نشط أداء منتخبنا الوطني ومرر ناصر الدوسري كرة أرضية لسالم الدوسري الذي لعبها عرضية عالية طار لها فراس البريكان وحولها برأسه داخل الشباك العمانية هدفاً أول للأخضر السعودي (د:55)، وتراجع أداء المنتخب الوطني وارتكب المدافع وليد الأحمد غلطة كادت تكلف المنتخب كثيراً، بعد أن مرر كرة بالخطأ لصلاح اليحيائي ليستغل خروج الحارس العقيدي ويضع الكرة من فوقه لكن الأحمد صحح خطأه وأبعد الكرة قبل ولوجها المرمى، ومن ركلة زاوية لعمان مرر ثاني الرشيدي كرة برأسه لزميله غانم الحبشي ليحولها داخل الشباك هدف تعادل للمنتخب العماني (د:70)، وكاد منتخبنا الوطني يسجل الهدف الثاني بعد أن مرر البديل صالح الشهري كرة لسالم الدوسري ليسددها قوية لكنها مرت بجوار القائم، ليعود سالم الدوسري للتألق مجدداً ويصنع كرة رائعة للمهاجم صالح الشهري الذي سددها مباشرةً في المرمى العماني هدفاً ثانياً للأخضر السعودي (د:77)، ووقف القائم العماني أمام نجم اللقاء سالم الدوسري الذي تلقى تمريرة ذكية من البديل عبدالرحمن العبود ليغمزها سالم بقدمه نحو المرمى لكن كرته ارتطمت بالقائم، ومن هجمة مرتدة انفرد سالم بالحارس العماني المخيني الذي تمكن من الإمساك بالكرة، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز منتخبنا الوطني بهدفين لهدف.
وفي اللقاء الآخر، تمكن المنتخب المغربي من الفوز على منتخب جزر القمر بنتيجة 3/ 1 في المباراة التي أقيمت على ملعب خليفة الدولي، وأحرز أهداف المغرب الثلاثة سفيان بوفتيني (د:5) وطارق تيسودالي (د:11) وكريم البركاوي (د:90+4)، فيما جاء هدف جزر القمر عن محمد بولكسوت (هدف عكسي د:56)، ليحصل المغرب على أول ثلاث نقاط ويتصدر منتخبات المجموعة بفارق الأهداف عن منتخبنا الوطني، فيما جاء منتخب عمان ثالثاً وجزر القمر رابعاً.
Our national Saudi football team kicked off its journey in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 with a victory over the Oman national team, winning two goals to one, in the match held at the Education City Stadium in the Qatari capital (Doha), as part of the first round of Group B, which also saw Morocco defeat the Comoros team by three goals to one.
The goals for the Saudi team were scored by Feras Al-Breikan (55') and Saleh Al-Shehri (77'), while Oman's goal came from Ghanem Al-Habshi (70').
The match witnessed Saudi dominance amidst a retreat from Oman, with Oman's coach Carlos Queiroz relying on counter-attacks. Captain Salem Al-Dosari nearly found the net after a cross from Nawaf Boushal, which Salem headed but missed the post. Oman responded with a shot from a free kick executed by Ali Al-Busaidi, which Omani defender Thani Al-Rashidi could not reach, resulting in a goal kick. Saleh Abu Al-Shamat then fired a powerful shot, but it went straight into the hands of Omani goalkeeper Ibrahim Al-Mukhaini. Just before the end of the first half, Nasser Al-Rawahi struck a strong shot that was saved by goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi, but it reached striker Issam Al-Sabhi, who scored, only for the assistant referee's flag to indicate offside, leading to the cancellation of the Omani goal.
In the second half, our national team improved its performance, with Nasser Al-Dosari passing a ground ball to Salem Al-Dosari, who delivered a high cross that Feras Al-Breikan soared to head into the Omani net, marking the first goal for the Saudi Green (55'). The national team's performance then dipped, and defender Walid Al-Ahmad made a mistake that could have cost the team dearly after mistakenly passing the ball to Salah Al-Yahyai, who took advantage of goalkeeper Al-Aqidi's exit to chip the ball over him, but Al-Ahmad corrected his mistake and cleared the ball before it crossed the line. From a corner kick for Oman, Thani Al-Rashidi headed the ball to his teammate Ghanem Al-Habshi, who converted it into the net for an equalizer for the Omani team (70'). Our national team nearly scored a second goal after substitute Saleh Al-Shehri passed the ball to Salem Al-Dosari, who struck it powerfully, but it went past the post. Salem Al-Dosari then shone again, creating a brilliant chance for striker Saleh Al-Shehri, who shot directly into the Omani net for a second goal for the Saudi Green (77'). The Omani post stood in the way of the match's star, Salem Al-Dosari, who received a clever pass from substitute Abdulrahman Al-Aboud, flicking it towards the goal with his foot, but his shot hit the post. In a counter-attack, Salem broke away from Omani goalkeeper Al-Mukhaini, who managed to catch the ball, ending the match with our national team winning two goals to one.
In the other match, the Moroccan team managed to defeat the Comoros team with a score of 3-1 in the match held at Khalifa International Stadium. Morocco's three goals were scored by Sofiane Boufal (5'), Tarek Tissoudali (11'), and Karim El Berkaoui (90+4'), while the Comoros' goal came from Mohamed Boukouts (own goal 56'). Morocco earned its first three points and topped the group standings on goal difference over our national team, while Oman came in third and Comoros fourth.
