وجاء الهدف الأول لرونالدو في الدقيقة 22 مانحا منتخب بلاده التعادل، قبل أن يضيف الهدف الثاني في الدقيقة الثالثة من الوقت بدل الضائع للشوط الأول، ليقود البرتغال لتقدم مهم في المواجهة.
