بدأ مدرب الاتحاد لوران بلان في تجهيز فريقه لمواجهة فريق شباب الأهلي دبي الثلاثاء القادم، الساعة 9:15 مساء على ملعب الإنماء بجدة، ضمن مباريات الجولة الثانية من دوري أبطال آسيا لأندية النخبة، إذ سيجري مناورات كروية من أجل تطبيق الأسلوب الفني والاستقرار على التشكيلة الأساسية التي سيخوض بها المواجهة المرتقبة.
وسيفتقد الفريق الاتحادي خدمات الثنائي مهند الشنقيطي؛ بسبب الإصابة العضلية التي تعرض لها في مباراة النجمة في دوري روشن إلى جانب إيقافه مباراتين إثر حصوله على البطاقة الحمراء في مباراة فريقه أمام الوحدة الإماراتي في الجولة الأولى في دوري أبطال آسيا لأندية النخبة، وكذلك النجم الجزائري حسام عوار، الذي تعرض لإصابة عضلية في مواجهة النصر الماضية في دوري روشن.
وسيسعى المدرب لوران بلان للاستعانة باللاعبين المواليد كارلوس سيميتش، ومحمد دومبيا، وروجر فيرنانديز في مواجهة شباب الأهلي دبي في البطولة الآسيوية.
ويطمح المدرب بلان في تحقيق الفوز على فريق شباب الأهلي دبي وحصد النقاط الثلاث ومواصلة المشوار نحو المنافسة على لقب دوري أبطال آسيا لأندية النخبة قبل فترة توقف المنافسات الكروية بسبب أيام «الفيفا».
وتنتظر الفريق الاتحادي عند استئناف المباريات عقب فترة التوقف بسبب أيام «الفيفا» 7 مباريات على الصعيدين المحلي والقاري في 24 يوماً، إذ سيخوض 4 مباريات في دوري روشن أمام الفيحاء في بريدة، وضد الهلال في جدة، والخليج في الدمام، والأهلي في جدة، ويواجه النصر في الرياض بالدور ثمن النهائي ضمن كأس الملك، وسيلعب مباراتين في دوري أبطال آسيا لأندية النخبة مع الشرطة العراقي في بغداد، والشارقة الإمارتي في جدة.

Union coach Laurent Blanc has started preparing his team for the upcoming match against Al Ahli Dubai on Tuesday, at 9:15 PM at the Al-Nimah Stadium in Jeddah, as part of the second round of the AFC Champions League for elite clubs. He will conduct football drills to implement the technical style and stabilize the starting lineup for the anticipated match.
The Union team will miss the services of the duo Mohannad Al-Shanqeeti due to a muscle injury sustained in the match against Al-Najma in the Roshan League, in addition to his two-match suspension after receiving a red card in his team's match against Al Wahda of the UAE in the first round of the AFC Champions League for elite clubs. They will also be without Algerian star Houssem Aouar, who suffered a muscle injury in the recent match against Al-Nasr in the Roshan League.
Coach Laurent Blanc will seek to rely on the born players Carlos Simitch, Mohamed Doumbia, and Roger Fernandez in the match against Al Ahli Dubai in the Asian championship.
Coach Blanc aims to achieve victory over Al Ahli Dubai and secure three points to continue the journey towards competing for the AFC Champions League title for elite clubs before the break in football competitions due to the "FIFA" days.
Upon resuming matches after the break due to the "FIFA" days, the Union team faces 7 matches on both local and continental levels within 24 days. They will play 4 matches in the Roshan League against Al-Fayha in Buraidah, against Al-Hilal in Jeddah, Al-Khaleej in Dammam, and Al-Ahli in Jeddah. They will also face Al-Nasr in Riyadh in the Round of 16 of the King’s Cup, and will play two matches in the AFC Champions League for elite clubs against Al-Shorta in Baghdad and Sharjah in Jeddah.
