غادرت بعثة نادي الاتحاد متوجهة إلى دولة الإمارات الشقيقة، استعدادًا لمواجهة الوحدة الإماراتي اليوم (الإثنين) ضمن منافسات الجولة الأولى من دوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة 2025-2026، حيث سيخوض الفريق حصة تدريبية مسائية على استاد آل نهيان، فيما يتحدث المدرب لوران بلان للإعلامي قبل انطلاق التدريبات، كما اختار بلان اللاعبين العشرة لهذه المواجهة، وهم: (موسى ديابي، ستيفين بيرجوين، روجر فيرنانديز، حسام عوار، فابينهو، محمدو دومبيا، دانيلو بيريرا، كارلو سيميتش، ماريو ميتاي، رايكوفيتش)، واستبعد قائد الفريق كريم بنزيما يغيب بداعي الإصابة وكانتي يغيب بداعي الإيقاف.
يذكر أن فريق الاتحاد يشارك في هذه المسابقة بصفته بطلاً لكأس الملك ودوري روشن ويسعى لتحقيق انطلاقة قوية في البطولة الآسيوية، في ظل توهج نجوم فريقه.
