تدرس رابطة الدوري الإسباني لكرة القدم تنفيذ خطوة تاريخية بنقل إحدى مباريات البطولة إلى خارج البلاد، بعدما حصلت الفكرة التي يقودها رئيس الرابطة خافيير تيباس على دفعة قوية.
وسبق أن أبدى الاتحاد الإسباني لكرة القدم انفتاحه على إقامة مواجهة فياريال وبرشلونة ضمن الجولة 17 من الليغا هذا الموسم في ملعب هارد روك بمدينة ميامي الأمريكية.
وفي حال الموافقة ستبدأ الإجراءات الرسمية لطلب إقامة المباراة خارج الأراضي الإسبانية لأول مرة في تاريخ الليغا قبل عرضه على الجمعية العمومية لاعتماده.
وجاء اختيار موعد المباراة بعناية إذ تتزامن الفترة ما بين 15 و21 ديسمبر مع توقف البطولات الأوروبية.
وكان رئيس الاتحاد الإسباني خافيير تيباس قد أشار في أبريل 2024 إلى إمكانية إقامة مباريات الدوري خارج إسبانيا خصوصاً في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية لتعزيز وجود الكرة الإسبانية في السوق الأمريكية التي تمتلك ثاني أكبر جماهيرية للكرة الإسبانية بعد إسبانيا.

The Spanish Football League Association is studying the implementation of a historic step by moving one of the league matches abroad, after the idea led by the association's president, Javier Tebas, received a strong boost.
The Spanish Football Federation had previously expressed its openness to holding the Villarreal vs. Barcelona match as part of the 17th round of La Liga this season at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, USA.
If approved, the official procedures to request holding the match outside Spanish territory for the first time in La Liga's history will begin before being presented to the General Assembly for approval.
The timing of the match has been carefully chosen, as the period between December 15 and 21 coincides with a break in European competitions.
In April 2024, the president of the Spanish Federation, Javier Tebas, indicated the possibility of holding league matches outside Spain, particularly in the United States, to enhance the presence of Spanish football in the American market, which has the second-largest fan base for Spanish football after Spain.
