عاد النجم الدولي السابق حسين شيعان ليصارع مرض سرطان الدم (اللوكيميا) مجدداً، وذلك عقب شفائه منه بنحو عام واحد.
وكان حارس مرمى فرق النصر والشباب والأخدود سابقاً أعلن تعرضه للإصابة بسرطان الدم للمرة الأولى في أكتوبر 2023 خلال فترة لعبه مع نادي الأخدود، قبل أن يعلن شفاءه التام من المرض في يوليو 2024، ليعود المرض مجدداً إلى جسده خلال الأيام الحالية، وسط تمنيات ودعوات كافة محبيه له بالشفاء العاجل.
يذكر أن حسين شيعان (36 عاما) خاض نحو 80 مباراة رسمية مع الأندية التي مثلها، إذ بدأ مسيرته الاحترافيه في كرة القدم مع نادي الشباب ومثل بعد ذلك أندية الهلال والنصر والتعاون والاتفاق وأخيراً الأخدود، ونجح خلال مسيرته في الفوز بلقبين أولهما مع النصر بحصد لقب الدوري السعودي في موسم 2014-2015، والثاني برفقة التعاون بتحقيق كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين لموسم 2018-2019.

The former international star Hussein Shayan has returned to battle leukemia once again, just a year after recovering from it.
The goalkeeper, who previously played for Al-Nasr, Al-Shabab, and Al-Akhudood, announced his first diagnosis of leukemia in October 2023 during his time with Al-Akhudood, before declaring his complete recovery from the disease in July 2024. Unfortunately, the illness has returned to his body in recent days, amidst the wishes and prayers of all his fans for a speedy recovery.
It is worth noting that Hussein Shayan (36 years old) has played around 80 official matches with the clubs he represented. He began his professional football career with Al-Shabab and later represented Al-Hilal, Al-Nasr, Al-Taawoun, Al-Ittifaq, and finally Al-Akhudood. Throughout his career, he succeeded in winning two titles, the first with Al-Nasr by clinching the Saudi League title in the 2014-2015 season, and the second with Al-Taawoun by achieving the King’s Cup for the 2018-2019 season.
