تستعد محافظة العُلا لاستضافة النسخة الجديدة من سباق «لهيب العُلا» خلال يومي 15 و16 أغسطس 2025، بمشاركة أكثر من (500) عدّاء من مختلف دول العالم، لخوض أحد أبرز السباقات الصحراوية التي تُعد من بين الأكثر تحدياً في المنطقة.
وينطلق السباق وسط تضاريس العُلا الطبيعية الفريدة، التي تشمل الأخاديد الصخرية والكثبان الرملية والواحات الخضراء، مروراً بمعالم طبيعية وتاريخية مميزة، ما يمنح المشاركين تجربة رياضية استثنائية في وجهة تتميز بجمال الطبيعة وتحتفي بروح المغامرة.
ويُتاح التسجيل في السباق لكافة الفئات، من العدّائين المحترفين إلى المبتدئين، عبر أربع مسافات مختلفة تشمل: (5) كيلومترات، (10) كيلومترات، (21.1) كيلومتر (نصف ماراثون)، و(42.2) كيلومتر (ماراثون كامل)، وسط أجواء صيفية حماسية ومليئة بالتحدي.
وتأخذ مسارات السباق المشاركين في جولة عبر عدد من المعالم الأيقونية البارزة في المحافظة؛ إذ ينطلق المشاركون في مسافات (5) كيلومترات، و(10) كيلومترات، و(21.1) كيلومتر من موقع الحِجر، الذي يُعد أول موقع سعودي يُدرج ضمن قائمة التراث العالمي لمنظمة اليونسكو.
وينطلق الماراثون الكامل لمسافة (42.2) كيلومتر من الحِجر أيضاً، ويمر بالقرب من مبنى مرايا، المصنّف كأكبر مبنى مغطى بالمرايا في العالم، وأحد أبرز رموز التطوير الثقافي والمعماري ضمن رؤية العُلا المستقبلية.

The Al-Ula Governorate is preparing to host the new edition of the "Lahib Al-Ula" race on August 15 and 16, 2025, with the participation of more than 500 runners from various countries around the world, to take part in one of the most prominent desert races that are among the most challenging in the region.
The race will take place amidst the unique natural landscapes of Al-Ula, which include rocky canyons, sand dunes, and green oases, passing by distinctive natural and historical landmarks, providing participants with an exceptional sporting experience in a destination characterized by the beauty of nature and celebrating the spirit of adventure.
Registration for the race is open to all categories, from professional runners to beginners, across four different distances including: 5 kilometers, 10 kilometers, 21.1 kilometers (half marathon), and 42.2 kilometers (full marathon), in an exciting summer atmosphere filled with challenges.
The race routes take participants on a tour through several prominent iconic landmarks in the governorate; participants in the 5-kilometer, 10-kilometer, and 21.1-kilometer distances will start from the Al-Hijr site, which is the first Saudi site to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The full marathon of 42.2 kilometers also starts from Al-Hijr and passes near the Mirror Building, classified as the largest building covered in mirrors in the world, and one of the most prominent symbols of cultural and architectural development within the future vision of Al-Ula.
