ودع الأهلي المصري بطولة كأس العالم للأندية لكرة القدم من دور المجموعات، بعد تعادله مع فريق بورتو البرتغالي بنتيجة (4 - 4)، في مباراة جمعتهما على ملعب «ميتلايف» في إطار الجولة الثالثة من المجموعة الأولى للمونديال.
وسجل رباعية الأهلي نجمه الفلسطيني وسام أبو علي الذي أحرز وحده ثلاثة أهداف موقعًا على هاتريك تاريخي في الدقائق (15) و(45) و(51)، فيما أضاف الهدف الرابع التونسي محمد علي بن رمضان في الدقيقة (64)، بينما أحرز أهداف بورتو كلا من رودريجو مورا في الدقيقة (23)، وجوميز في الدقيقة (50)، وزيدو سنوسي في الدقيقة (53)، وبيبي في الدقيقة (89).
وبهذه النتيجة، رفع الأهلي رصيده إلى نقطتين فقط ليحتل المركز الرابع في المجموعة الأولى، بفارق الأهداف فقط عن بورتو البرتغالي الذي احتل المركز الثالث برصيد نقطتين أيضًا.

The Egyptian Al Ahly bid farewell to the FIFA Club World Cup from the group stage after drawing with the Portuguese team Porto with a score of (4 - 4) in a match held at the "MetLife" Stadium as part of the third round of Group A in the tournament.
Al Ahly's four goals were scored by its star, the Palestinian Wisam Abu Ali, who netted three goals alone, achieving a historic hat-trick in the minutes (15), (45), and (51). The fourth goal was added by the Tunisian Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan in the minute (64), while Porto's goals were scored by Rodrigo Mora in the minute (23), Gomes in the minute (50), Zaidu Sanusi in the minute (53), and Pepe in the minute (89).
With this result, Al Ahly raised its tally to only two points, placing it in fourth place in Group A, just on goal difference from Porto, which secured third place with two points as well.
