يخوض منتخبنا الوطني الأول لكرة القدم لقاءً مهماً عندما يستضيف نظيره منتخب أستراليا الساعة 9:15 من مساء اليوم (الثلاثاء)، على استاد الإنماء بمدينة الملك عبدالله الرياضية بجدة في ختام الدور الثالث للتصفيات الآسيوية المؤهلة لكأس العالم 2026م.
يدخل منتخبنا الوطني هذا اللقاء بحثاً عن تحقيق الفوز بفارق 5 أهداف لخطف بطاقة التأهل المباشرة للمونديال 2026م، إذ يحتل الأخضر السعودي المركز الثالث برصيد 13 نقطة حصدها من 3 انتصارات و4 تعادلات وخسارتين، وله من الأهداف 6 وعليه مثلها. وحسب نظام التصفيات، فإنه في حالة تساوي النقاط بين منتخبين في تصفيات كأس العالم الآسيوية، يتم الترتيب وفقاً للمعايير التالية حسب الأولوية: فارق الأهداف الإجمالي في جميع المباريات، وفي حالة التساوي بفارق الأهداف فإن الأفضلية لصاحب الأهداف الأعلى، ويصب فارق الأهداف حالياً للمنتخب الأسترالي (له 14 وعليه 6)، وفي حالة فوز منتخبنا الوطني بنتيجة 5/0 فإن الفارق سيصبح لمصلحة الأخضر السعودي (له 11 وعليه 6 بفارق +5)، فيما يصبح المنتخب الأسترالي (له 14 وعليه 11 بفارق +3)، ورغم أنها مهمة صعبة إلا أنها ليست مستحيلة، إذ يملك منتخبنا قوة هجومية قادرة على تحقيق الفوز مع المحافظة على نظافة الشباك.
ويعتمد المدرب الفرنسي هيرفي رينارد على طريقة 4–2–3–1 بوجود فراس البريكان في خط المقدمة وخلفه الثلاثي سالم الدوسري ومصعب الجوير وأيمن يحيى، فيما يوجد في حراسة المرمى الحارس نواف العقيدي وأمامه رباعي الدفاع علي مجرشي وحسان تمبكتي وحسن كادش ونواف بوشل، ووجود الثنائي محمد كنو وزياد الجهني في المحور.
فيما يدخل منتخب أستراليا هذا اللقاء بعد أن حقق 3 انتصارات متتالية جعلته قريباً من التواجد في المونديال العالمي، إذ يحتل المركز الثاني برصيد 16 نقطة حصدها من 4 انتصارات و3 تعادلات وخسارة وحيدة. واستغل المنتخب الأسترالي مشاركة اليابان بالصف الثاني في المواجهة الأخيرة ليحقق انتصاراً قاتلاً وثميناً جعله بحاجة للفوز أو التعادل أو الخسارة بأقل من فارق 5 أهداف ليضمن التأهل للمونديال.
يذكر أنه في حالة عدم تحقيق منتخبنا السعودي بطاقة التأهل المباشر فإنه سيشارك في الدور الرابع للملحق العالمي بمرافقة منتخب إندونيسيا من المجموعة الثالثة، فيما ضمن المنتخبان الخليجيان الإمارات وقطر التأهل للدور الرابع عن المجموعة الأولى، وتأهل من المجموعة الثانية منتخب العراق ويبقى الصراع على المقعد الثاني والأخير بين منتخبي عمان وفلسطين عندما يلتقيان على استاد الملك عبدالله الثاني في العاصمة الأردنية عمّان، ويحتاج المنتخب العماني للتعادل على أقل تقدير لضمان التأهل، فيما يحتاج منتخب فلسطين للفوز ولا غيره لمرافقة العراق للدور الرابع.
