نيابة عن خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبد العزيز آل سعود - حفظه الله -، توَّج الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبد العزيز آل سعود ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء ـ حفظه الله ـ فريق الاتحاد بكأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين للموسم الرياضي الحالي 2024 - 2025، وذلك عقب المباراة الختامية التي أقيمت على استاد مدينة الملك عبدالله الرياضية بين فريقي الاتحاد والقادسية، وانتهت بنتيجة 3-1، سجل للاتحاد كريم بنزيما هدفين وحسام عوار هدف، فيما سجل آوباميانج هدف القادسية الوحيد، وبذلك يضم «العميد» كأس الملك لبطولة دوري روشن الذي توج بها مؤخراً.
وجاء اللقاء مثيراً ويليق بختام موسم رياضي رائع إذ احتشد أكثر من 51 ألف متفرج، وتمكن الاتحاد من وضع بصمته التهديفية الأولى عن طريق قائده كريم بنزيما (د: 34)، وكاد بنزيما أن يهز الشباك مجدداً ولكن الحارس كوين كاستيلس تصدى لكرته ليتابعها حسام عوار ويسكنها في الشباك كهدفٍ ثانٍ الاتحاد (د: 43)، وفي الوقت بدل الضائع احتسب حكم اللقاء الإيطالي ركلة جزاء للقادسية تقدم لها أوباميانج وسددها بنجاح كهدف أول للقادسية (د: 45+6)، وواصل الاتحاد ضغطه في الشوط الثاني ونتج عن هذا تحصل لاعب القادسية أزيكيل فرنانديز على بطاقة حمراء (د: 81)، وعاد بنزيما مجدداً لهز الشباك في الوقت بدل الضائع بعد مجهود رائع من موسى ديابي ليعكس الكرة لبنزيما الذي أسكنها في الشباك كهدف ثالث للاتحاد (د: 90+4)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز الاتحاد على القادسية بنتيجة 3/ 1.
وبعد نهاية اللقاء رفع كريم بنزيما كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين ونال مع زملائه اللاعبين الميداليات الذهبية، فيما حصل فريق القادسية على المركز الثاني والميداليات الفضية.

On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - awarded the Al-Ittihad team the King’s Cup for the current sports season 2024 - 2025, following the final match held at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium between the teams of Al-Ittihad and Al-Qadisiyah, which ended with a score of 3-1. Karim Benzema scored two goals for Al-Ittihad and Hossam Aouar scored one goal, while Aubameyang scored the only goal for Al-Qadisiyah. Thus, "The Dean" adds the King's Cup to the Roshan League title it recently won.
The match was thrilling and befitting the conclusion of a wonderful sports season, with over 51,000 spectators in attendance. Al-Ittihad managed to make its first mark on the scoreboard through its captain Karim Benzema (34'), and Benzema nearly found the net again, but goalkeeper Koen Casteels saved his shot, allowing Hossam Aouar to follow up and score the second goal for Al-Ittihad (43'). In stoppage time, the Italian referee awarded a penalty to Al-Qadisiyah, which Aubameyang successfully converted for Al-Qadisiyah's first goal (45+6'). Al-Ittihad continued to apply pressure in the second half, resulting in Al-Qadisiyah's player Ezequiel Fernández receiving a red card (81'). Benzema returned to score again in stoppage time after a brilliant effort from Moussa Diaby, who crossed the ball to Benzema, who netted it as the third goal for Al-Ittihad (90+4'), ending the match with a victory for Al-Ittihad over Al-Qadisiyah with a score of 3/1.
