كشف الاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم «الكاف» عن كأس جديدة لمسابقة دوري أبطال أفريقيا، وذلك خلال حفل أقيم في عاصمة جنوب أفريقيا جوهانسبورغ، بحضور عدد من أساطير كرة القدم في القارة وممثلي ناديي بيراميدز المصري وما ميلودي صن داونز الجنوب أفريقي، طرفي النهائي المرتقب.
وأكد «الكاف» أن توقيت الكشف عن الكأس الجديدة يعزز من الأجواء الحماسية المحيطة بالمباراة النهائية.
يُذكر أن الشكل الحالي للكأس تم اعتماده منذ عام 2007، وكان النجم الساحلي التونسي أول من تُوّج بها، فيما يُعد الأهلي المصري الأكثر تتويجاً بها منذ ذلك الحين بـ7 ألقاب، آخرها في 2023.
وتُقام مباراة ذهاب النهائي بين بيراميدز وصن داونز في 24 مايو الجاري على ملعب لوفتوس فيرسفيلد بجنوب أفريقيا، فيما تُقام مباراة الإياب وتتويج البطل بالكأس الجديدة يوم 1 يونيو القادم في استاد الدفاع الجوي بالقاهرة.

The African Football Confederation (CAF) unveiled a new trophy for the African Champions League during a ceremony held in Johannesburg, South Africa, attended by several football legends from the continent and representatives from the Egyptian club Pyramids and the South African club Mamelodi Sundowns, the two finalists of the anticipated match.
CAF confirmed that the timing of the unveiling of the new trophy enhances the exciting atmosphere surrounding the final match.
It is worth noting that the current design of the trophy has been in place since 2007, with Tunisian club Étoile du Sahel being the first to win it, while Egyptian club Al Ahly holds the record for the most titles since then, with 7 championships, the latest being in 2023.
The first leg of the final match between Pyramids and Sundowns will take place on May 24 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in South Africa, while the second leg and the crowning of the champion with the new trophy will be held on June 1 at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo.
