Medical examinations revealed the presence of a stable bullet in the brain of an Egyptian patient, after he went to one of the neurology and interventional radiology doctors at Assiut University, due to suffering from involuntary movements in one of his hands and balance disturbances, without knowing about a previous injury that caused the bullet to remain inside his head.
According to the doctor, who shared the details of the case on his social media accounts, the symptoms the patient complained of led him to request several tests, including an EEG and a CT scan, to determine the causes of his condition.
The results of the scans showed a bullet inside the brain, raising questions about how it reached that location and how long it had remained stable, especially since the patient was unaware of its presence.
As details of the incident spread and followers interacted with it, the doctor deleted the post and apologized through his social media accounts, clarifying that his intention in sharing the case was to highlight a rare medical incident, not to achieve publicity or stir controversy.
The doctor noted that several professors of neurosurgery confirmed to him that they had previously dealt with similar cases, indicating that this incident is not the first of its kind in the medical field.
