The Saudi Football Federation has achieved the highest Asian classification in the talent development pathway, moving from the second level to the top level in the ranking, following a comprehensive evaluation conducted by the Asian Football Confederation of the federation's work in developing youth categories.
The evaluation included the work of the Saudi Federation represented by the technical department, covering several pathways, most notably youth competitions, coach development programs, private academies, as well as regional training centers and talent discovery and development programs.
A delegation from the Asian Football Confederation conducted an evaluation visit to the Saudi Federation last June, during which they reviewed various projects, programs, and supporting documents as part of the evaluation procedures for the youth development pathway.
Mr. Van Jan, a member of the Youth Development Committee of the Asian Football Confederation, praised the noticeable progress in youth category programs, the adopted strategy for their development, and the achievements made, emphasizing the importance of continuing to work with the same approach due to the significance of this pathway in discovering and developing talents and training coaches.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Saudi Football Federation, Mr. Majid bin Ali Al-Sahib, confirmed that achieving the highest Asian classification reflects the continuous work that the federation has witnessed over the past years in the youth development system, which included the development of competitions and coaches, and the expansion of talent discovery programs and academies.
The Secretary-General praised the efforts made by the previous Board of Directors of the Saudi Federation and their contributions to the youth development pathway, which played a role in reaching this classification, affirming the commitment to continue working and building on what has been achieved to contribute to the development of the Saudi football system, and expressing his gratitude to all those who contributed to this effort.
