The Egyptian actress Mai Omar has apologized for participating in the series "Ashmawy," which marks the return of the artist Mohamed Ramadan to compete in Ramadan drama, due to a scheduling conflict between the filming of this work and her new series "Halima Gibran," making it difficult for her to participate in both productions during the same season.
Halima Gibran
Mai Omar is preparing to compete in Ramadan 2027 with the series "Halima Gibran," in which she plays a character of the same name, in a social work with a popular theme, written by Mohab Tarek and directed by Mohamed Bakir.
The series "Halima Gibran" consists of 30 episodes, and its events unfold in a social context through a series of intertwined relationships and conflicts. The work relies on connected and separate stories, featuring about 8 or 9 main characters. In the series, Mai Omar portrays the character "Halima Gibran," who goes through a series of difficult crises that turn her life upside down, including being subjected to a rape that becomes a public issue after its details spread across social media.
The incident leaves deep psychological scars on "Halima," who embarks on a journey of psychological therapy to overcome the aftermath of the trauma and regain her life, before the events evolve into a different path that drives her to confront those responsible for her crisis and seek revenge against them. The character allows Mai Omar the opportunity to deliver a different performance, as the events depend on the psychological transformations she undergoes and the conflicts she faces within her social environment.
Cast of the Series
Alongside Mai Omar, the series features the participation of Yousra El Lozy, Mohamed Hatem, Bayoumi Fouad, Sayed Ragab, Arefa Abdel Rasoul, Mohamed Lotfy, Emad Rashad, Hazem Ihab, and Leila Ezz Arab. The artist Ahmed Zaher also appears in the series as a guest star in the much-anticipated work set to air next Ramadan.
