عقد مدرب المنتخب السعودي جورجيوس دونيس اجتماعاً مع اللاعبين من أجل شرح الأسلوب الفني الذي سيعتمده في المباراة النهائية أمام المنتخب الإماراتي(الثلاثاء) القادم الساعة 9:00 مساءً، على استاد الإنماء بمدينة الملك عبد الله الرياضية في جدة على كأس خليجي 27، إذ سيختتم المدرب دونيس التحضيرات الفنية بمناورة كروية سيستقر من خلالها على النهج الفني، واعتماد العناصر الأساسية التي سيخوض بها المباراة الختامية.
هذا وسيعقد المدرب دونيس مؤتمراً صحفياً غدا (الإثنين) من أجل الحديث عن المواجهة الختامية أمام الإمارات ومدى جاهزية نجوم الأخضر لخوض النهائي .
وجاء مشوار المنتخبين "السعودية" تصدر المجموعة الأولى بـ 9 نقاط، ثم تخطى عقبة قطر في نصف النهائي بضربات الترجيح (3-2) بعد تعادل سلبي في الأشواط الأصلية والإضافية، فيما "الإمارات" تصدر المجموعة الثانية برصيد 7 نقاط، وتأهل للنهائي بعد فوزه على عمان بهدف نظيف، ضمن كأس خليجي 27.
وكان المنتخبين السعودي والإماراتي التقيا في 18 مباراة ضمن منافسات كأس الخليج العربي، ويتفوق "الأخضر" تاريخياً بأحد عشر فوزاً وتسجيل 28 هدفاً، مقابل ثلاثة انتصارات للأبيض مع تسجيل أحد عشر هدفاً، وتعادلا في أربع مباريات.

The journey of the two teams saw "Saudi Arabia" topping Group A with 9 points, then overcoming Qatar in the semifinals through penalty kicks (3-2) after a goalless draw in the original and extra time, while "UAE" topped Group B with 7 points and qualified for the final after defeating Oman with a clean goal, as part of the Gulf Cup 27.
The Saudi and UAE national teams have met in 18 matches in the Arabian Gulf Cup, with the "Green" historically leading with eleven wins and scoring 28 goals, compared to three victories for the "White" with eleven goals scored, and they have drawn in four matches.
