قدّم لاعب المنتخب السعودي مصعب الجوير اعتذاره لوزير الرياضة ورئيس الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم والجهازين الفني والإداري وزملائه اللاعبين والجماهير السعودية، عقب قرار استبعاده من معسكر «الأخضر» المقام في جدة استعداداً للمشاركة في كأس الخليج العربي «خليجي 27».
وكان الجهازان الفني والإداري للمنتخب السعودي قد قررا استبعاد الجوير من المعسكر لأسباب انضباطية، قبل انطلاق البطولة، دون الكشف عن تفاصيل المخالفة.
وقال الجوير، عبر حسابه في «إنستغرام»، إنه يتحمل كامل المسؤولية عن التصرف الذي صدر منه، مؤكداً إقراره بخطئه دون تبرير أو أعذار، ومقدماً اعتذاره لوزير الرياضة ورئيس الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، إضافة إلى الجهازين الفني والإداري وزملائه اللاعبين وجماهير المنتخب.
وأكد اللاعب احترامه الكامل للقرار الصادر بحقه وحرصه على الاستفادة من الموقف والالتزام بما يعكس مسؤولية تمثيل المنتخب الوطني، مشدداً على أن «الأخضر» سيحظى دائماً بدعمه ومساندته، ومتمنياً له التوفيق والنجاح في الاستحقاقات القادمة.
وجاء اعتذار الجوير بعد ساعات من قرار استبعاده، فيما استدعى مدرب المنتخب السعودي جورجيوس دونيس لاعب وسط الاتحاد مختار علي للانضمام إلى القائمة بدلاً عنه.

The technical and administrative staff of the Saudi national team had decided to exclude Al-Juwair from the camp for disciplinary reasons, before the tournament began, without disclosing the details of the violation.
Al-Juwair stated, via his Instagram account, that he takes full responsibility for the action he took, affirming his acknowledgment of his mistake without justification or excuses, and offering his apology to the Minister of Sports and the President of the Saudi Football Federation, in addition to the technical and administrative staff, his fellow players, and the fans of the national team.
The player confirmed his complete respect for the decision made against him and his eagerness to learn from the situation and adhere to the responsibility of representing the national team, emphasizing that the "Green" will always have his support and backing, wishing it success and achievement in the upcoming challenges.
Al-Juwair's apology came just hours after the decision to exclude him, while the Saudi national team coach Georgios Donis called up Al-Ittihad midfielder Mukhtar Ali to join the squad in his place.
