شهد مجمع «سيتي بنك» في مدينة تامبا بولاية فلوريدا حادثاً دامياً، أسفر عن مقتل شخصين، من بينهما المشتبه به في الواقعة، بعد استنفار أمني واسع شهدته المنطقة، إثر بلاغات عن إطلاق نار بعد ظهر الأربعاء.
وقال تشاد كرونستر، شريف مقاطعة هيلسبورو، في بيان، إن المشتبه به المتورط في الحادث لقي حتفه، مؤكداً في الوقت ذاته وفاة أحد الضحايا، فيما كانت السلطات قد تلقت بلاغات من شهود عيان أفادوا بسماع إطلاق نار في الموقع.
من جانبها، أكدت متحدثة باسم «سيتي بنك» علم المؤسسة بالحادث الذي وقع في مقرها بمدينة تامبا، مشيرة إلى أن البنك يتعاون مع سلطات إنفاذ القانون، من دون الكشف عن مزيد من التفاصيل بشأن ملابسات الواقعة.
وأوضح الشريف أن نحو 365 عنصراً من أفراد الشرطة شاركوا في التعامل مع الحادث، مرجحاً أن يكون الاستهداف موجهاً إلى أشخاص بعينهم، وليس إطلاق نار عشوائياً.

Chad Chronister, the Hillsborough County Sheriff, stated in a press release that the suspect involved in the incident was killed, confirming at the same time the death of one of the victims, while authorities had received reports from eyewitnesses who reported hearing gunfire at the scene.
For its part, a spokesperson for "City Bank" confirmed that the institution is aware of the incident that occurred at its headquarters in Tampa, noting that the bank is cooperating with law enforcement authorities, without disclosing further details regarding the circumstances of the incident.
The sheriff explained that about 365 police officers participated in responding to the incident, suggesting that the targeting was directed at specific individuals rather than random gunfire.
