أعلن الاتحاد الغاني لكرة القدم عودة البرتغالي كارلوس كيروش لتدريب المنتخب الأول، بعد نحو شهرين فقط من رحيله.
وكان المدرب المخضرم، البالغ من العمر 73 عاماً، قد درب منتخب غانا في بطولة كأس العالم 2026، وقاده للتأهل إلى دور الـ32، قبل أن يودع المونديال بهزيمة أمام كولومبيا بهدف نظيف.
خبرة كيروش تُعيده لقيادة غانا
وقال الاتحاد الغاني لكرة القدم في بيان عبر موقعه الإلكتروني: «يسر الاتحاد الغاني لكرة القدم أن يعلن عن توصله إلى اتفاق مع كارلوس كيروش لتعيينه مدرباً لمنتخب النجوم السوداء للمرحلة القادمة».
وأضاف: «يعتقد الاتحاد الغاني لكرة القدم أن خبرة كيروش الدولية الواسعة، وخبرته الفنية، ومعرفته بمنتخب غانا، تؤهله بقوة لقيادة الفريق في هذه المرحلة التالية».
واختتم البيان: «سيتم الإعلان عن مزيد من التفاصيل حول الولاية الجديدة وبرنامج النجوم السوداء القادم في الوقت المناسب، إذ يركز الاتحاد الغاني لكرة القدم والمدرب كيروش على بناء مرحلة جديدة ناجحة لغانا على الساحة الدولية».
غانا تواجه كوت ديفوار
ومن المقرر أن يخوض منتخب غانا مواجهتين ذهاباً وإياباً أمام كوت ديفوار ضمن تصفيات كأس الأمم الأفريقية 2027، خلال فترة التوقف الدولي القادمة الممتدة من 21 سبتمبر الجاري إلى السادس من أكتوبر القادم.
The Ghana Football Association has announced the return of Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz to lead the national team, just two months after his departure.
The veteran coach, who is 73 years old, had led the Ghana national team in the 2026 World Cup, guiding them to the Round of 32 before exiting the tournament with a defeat against Colombia by a single goal.
Queiroz's Experience Brings Him Back to Lead Ghana
The Ghana Football Association stated in a release on its website: "The Ghana Football Association is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Carlos Queiroz to appoint him as the head coach of the Black Stars for the upcoming phase."
It added: "The Ghana Football Association believes that Queiroz's extensive international experience, technical expertise, and knowledge of the Ghana national team strongly qualify him to lead the team in this next phase."
The statement concluded: "Further details regarding the new tenure and the upcoming Black Stars program will be announced in due course, as the Ghana Football Association and Coach Queiroz focus on building a successful new phase for Ghana on the international stage."
Ghana Faces Ivory Coast
The Ghana national team is set to play two home-and-away matches against Ivory Coast as part of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations during the upcoming international break from September 21 to October 6.
