A wave of anger swept through the fans of Al-Ettifaq Club after their early exit from the Round of 32 of the King’s Cup, following a loss by a goal to nil against Al-Jabalain.

The Al-Ettifaq fans launched a scathing attack on the club's management and players following the bitter exit from the King’s Cup.

Voices demanding the resignation of the club's management, led by Samer Al-Mashel, grew louder amid the poor performances the team has been delivering for the second consecutive season.

Criticism also targeted the players, who did not perform at the required level against Al-Jabalain, which led to an early farewell from the tournament.

Babass: We were affected by the pressure of matches

For his part, Australian coach Arthur Babass expressed his regret over the team's exit from the tournament, saying:

“Al-Ettifaq did not perform at the required level during the first half,” and added: “We were affected by playing a match two days ago in difficult conditions, and in the second half, our desire was greater, and we created several chances but did not capitalize on them.”

Babass concluded his remarks by emphasizing the need to focus on what’s next: “We have strong competitions ahead in the Roshan League, and we will strive hard to show a different performance in the coming days.”
