أعلن نادي كورينثيانز البرازيلي تراجعه عن تجديد عقد مهاجمه الهولندي ممفيس ديباي، الذي انتهى في 1 أغسطس الجاري، رغم الاتفاق المسبق بين الطرفين.
أسباب مالية وراء القرار المفاجئ
وقال النادي في بيان عبر حسابه على منصة «إكس»: «قرر نادي كورينثيانز عدم تجديد عقد اللاعب ممفيس ديباي، وقد اتُخذ هذا القرار مراعاةً للوضع المالي للنادي، الأمر الذي يتطلب إدارة دقيقة ومسؤولة للموارد المتاحة».
وأضاف البيان: «نتقدم بجزيل الشكر للاعب ممفيس ديباي وفريقه بأكمله، الذين سعوا منذ بداية المفاوضات إلى التوصل لأفضل اتفاق ممكن».
ديباي يتوعد بالرد
من جانبه، كتب ديباي عبر حساباته على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي: «جرى الاتفاق بشكل واضح على تجديد العقد من جانب رئيس النادي والإدارات الرياضية والقانونية والمالية، لكن بعض الأشخاص قرروا التراجع عن هذا الالتزام».
وتابع: «لم أكن أرغب في الوصول إلى هذا الوضع، وقد احترمت النادي دائماً طوال هذه العملية، لكنني مضطر الآن للدفاع بقوة عن حقوقي ومصالحي. سأتحدث علناً خلال الأيام المقبلة، لكن يمكنكم التأكد من أنني لن أترك هذا السلوك غير المقبول يمر من دون محاسبة».
The Brazilian club Corinthians announced its decision to retract the renewal of its Dutch striker Memphis Depay's contract, which expired on August 1, despite a prior agreement between the two parties.
Financial Reasons Behind the Sudden Decision
The club stated in a statement via its account on the "X" platform: "Corinthians has decided not to renew the contract of player Memphis Depay, and this decision was made in consideration of the club's financial situation, which requires careful and responsible management of available resources."
The statement added: "We extend our sincere thanks to player Memphis Depay and his entire team, who have sought since the beginning of negotiations to reach the best possible agreement."
Depay Vows to Respond
For his part, Depay wrote on his social media accounts: "It was clearly agreed to renew the contract by the club president and the sports, legal, and financial departments, but some individuals decided to retract this commitment."
He continued: "I did not want to reach this situation, and I have always respected the club throughout this process, but I am now forced to strongly defend my rights and interests. I will speak publicly in the coming days, but you can be sure that I will not let this unacceptable behavior go unaccounted for."
