أكد مدير منتخب مصر لكرة القدم إبراهيم حسن أن الجهات الأمنية رفضت طلب إقامة المنتخب المصري في مدينة سياتل كما كان مقرراً بعد مباراة نيوزيلندا في الجولة الثانية من دوري المجموعات في كأس العالم 2026. وأضاف: المنتخب كان يرغب في السفر مباشرة إلى سياتل حفاظاً على اللاعبين من إجهاد السفر بسبب كثرة التنقلات، استعداداً لمباراة إيران(السبت) القادم.
فيما وصلت البعثة بقيادة التوأم حسام وإبراهيم حسن، إلى مدينة سبوكين الأمريكية، على متن طائرة خاصة. وتصدّر منتخب مصر مجموعته في كأس العالم، بعد نهاية الجولة الثانية برصيد 4 نقاط، بعد التعادل مع بلجيكا بهدف لمثله في الجولة الأولى، ثم الفوز على نيوزيلندا بنتيجة 3 أهداف مقابل هدف في الجولة الثانية.
من جهة أخرى، قدّم رئيس مجلس إدارة الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم المهندس هاني أبو ريدة، وأعضاء مجلس الإدارة، والجهاز الفني، ولاعبو المنتخب الوطني الأول، وأعضاء بعثة المنتخب المشاركة في كأس العالم 2026، خالص الشكر إلى الرئيس المصري عبدالفتاح السيسي على تهنئته بفوز منتخب بلاده على نيوزيلندا، ودعمه المتواصل للشباب المصري في مختلف المجالات.
The manager of the Egyptian national football team, Ibrahim Hassan, confirmed that the security authorities rejected the request to host the Egyptian team in Seattle as planned after the match against New Zealand in the second round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup. He added: "The team wanted to travel directly to Seattle to protect the players from travel fatigue due to the numerous transfers, in preparation for the match against Iran (next Saturday)."
Meanwhile, the delegation led by the twins Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan arrived in Spokane, USA, on a private plane. The Egyptian team topped their group in the World Cup after the end of the second round with 4 points, following a draw with Belgium 1-1 in the first round, and then a victory over New Zealand with a score of 3 goals to 1 in the second round.
On another note, the Chairman of the Board of the Egyptian Football Association, Engineer Hani Abu Rida, along with the board members, the technical staff, the players of the national team, and the members of the delegation participating in the 2026 World Cup, expressed their sincere gratitude to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his congratulations on the victory of the national team over New Zealand, and for his continuous support for Egyptian youth in various fields.
