سجل منتخب جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية اسمه بأحرف من الذهب في سجلات كأس العالم، بعد التعادل الثمين والمثير أمام منتخب البرتغال بنتيجة هدف لمثله، في المواجهة التي أقيمت ضمن الجولة الأولى من منافسات المجموعة الـ11 لمونديال 2026،
ويعتبر هذا الهدف هو الهدف الكونغولي الأول في تاريخ مشاركاتهم بكأس العالم وأول نقطة لهم في هذا المحفل الكروي العالمي.
لم يكن هذا التعادل أمراً عادياً لمنتخب جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية، الذي شارك في نهائيات كأس العالم لأول مرة منذ نسخة 1974 تحت اسم زائير، وخرج آنذاك من الدور الأول دون تسجيل أي هدف، فبعد 52 عاماً، تمكنت الكنغو من كسر هذه العقدة التاريخية وتسجيل أول هدف لهم في النهائيات العالمية والحصول على أول نقطة في تاريخ مشاركاتهم بالمونديال.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo national team has etched its name in gold letters in the World Cup records, after a precious and thrilling draw against the Portugal national team with a score of one goal each, in the match that took place in the first round of Group 11 of the 2026 World Cup.
This goal is the first Congolese goal in the history of their World Cup participations and their first point in this global football event.
This draw was not an ordinary achievement for the Democratic Republic of the Congo national team, which participated in the World Cup finals for the first time since the 1974 edition under the name Zaire, and was eliminated in the first round at that time without scoring any goals. After 52 years, Congo managed to break this historical curse and score their first goal in the global finals and earn their first point in the history of their World Cup participations.
