غابت اليمن عن المشاركة في مونديال 2026 لكن الصوت اليمني كان حاضرًا بقوة عبر المعلق حسن العيدروس الذي خطف إعجاب الجماهير السعودية والعربية بأسلوبه الحماسي وتعليقه المؤثر على مباريات المنتخب السعودي.
وقدم العيدروس أداءً لافتًا أعاد إلى الأذهان ذكريات الانتصارات التاريخية للأخضر عندما قال «اليوم أتذكر ظهيرة لوسيل يا أخضر» في إشارة إلى المباراة الشهيرة أمام الأرجنتين في مونديال قطر 2022 والتي تعد واحدة من أكبر مفاجآت كأس العالم عبر التاريخ.
