واصل المنتخب السعودي احتفاظه بإنجاز عربي فريد في تاريخ كأس العالم، بعدما فشل المنتخب الجزائري في كسر العقدة العربية أمام الأرجنتين إثر خسارته أمام “التانغو” في مونديال 2026، ليبقى “الأخضر” المنتخب العربي الوحيد الذي تمكن من تحقيق الفوز على المنتخب الأرجنتيني في تاريخ البطولة.
وكان المنتخب السعودي قد سطر واحدة من أكبر مفاجآت كأس العالم عبر تاريخه عندما قلب تأخره أمام الأرجنتين إلى انتصار تاريخي بنتيجة 2-1 في افتتاح مشواره بمونديال 2022 في قطر، في مباراة لا تزال في ذاكرة الجمهور السعودي.
وبعد مواجهة الجزائر الأخيرة، ارتفعت حصيلة مواجهات الأرجنتين أمام المنتخبات العربية في كأس العالم إلى ست مباريات، حقق خلالها المنتخب الأرجنتيني أربعة انتصارات وتعادلاً واحداً، مقابل خسارة وحيدة كانت أمام السعودية.
وتوزعت نتائج الأرجنتين أمام العرب بين تعادل مع المغرب في نسخة 1974، وانتصارات على الجزائر في 1982 و2026، وعلى العراق في 1986، فيما بقيت خسارتها الوحيدة أمام المنتخب السعودي في قطر 2022.
ويؤكد هذا السجل التاريخي استمرار تفرد الأخضر بإنجاز عربي استثنائي، بعدما ظل المنتخب العربي الوحيد الذي نجح في إسقاط أحد عمالقة كرة القدم العالمية في أكبر محفل كروي على مستوى المنتخبات.
