كشف قائد المنتخب الألمانية جوشوا كيميتش، عن واقعة مثيرة شهدها معسكر «الماكينات» خلال مشاركتهم في كأس العالم 2026، بعد ظهور أفعى سامة بالقرب من مقر إقامة المنتخب في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.
وأوضح كيميتش خلال حديثه لوسائل الإعلام أن لاعبي المنتخب شاهدوا الأفعى في محيط المعسكر، وقال: «رأينا أفعى أمس، وقيل لنا إنها سامة، إذا تعرضت للدغة منها فعليك الذهاب إلى المستشفى، لا أعتقد أنك ستموت، لكنها بالتأكيد خطيرة».
وأضاف قائد ألمانيا: «لدي شعور بأن الأمر قد ينتهي بشكل سيئ إذا وطئت أفعى كهذه، لذلك نحاول إبقاء مسافة بيننا وبين الحيوانات هنا»، مشيراً إلى اختلاف البيئة التي يعيشها المنتخب خلال البطولة الحالية.
وأبدى كيميتش دهشته من طبيعة الحياة البرية في ولاية نورث كارولاينا الأمريكية، قائلاً: «لدي احترام كبير للناس الذين يعيشون هنا، ففي ألمانيا أشعر أنه لا يوجد هذا العدد من الحيوانات الخطيرة».
وبحسب تقارير إعلامية ألمانية، فإن الأفعى التي شاهدها لاعبو المنتخب الألماني يُعتقد أنها من نوع «Copperhead» السام، وهو من الأنواع المنتشرة في ولاية نورث كارولاينا، حيث يقيم المنتخب الألماني معسكره خلال منافسات كأس العالم 2026.
The captain of the German national team, Joshua Kimmich, revealed an intriguing incident that occurred during the "machines" camp while they were participating in the 2026 World Cup, after a venomous snake was spotted near the team's accommodation in the United States.
Kimmich explained during his talk with the media that the players saw the snake in the vicinity of the camp, saying: "We saw a snake yesterday, and we were told it is venomous. If you get bitten by it, you need to go to the hospital. I don't think you'll die, but it's definitely dangerous."
The captain of Germany added: "I have a feeling that things could end badly if a snake like that steps on you, so we try to keep a distance between us and the animals here," referring to the different environment the team is experiencing during the current tournament.
Kimmich expressed his astonishment at the nature of wildlife in North Carolina, USA, saying: "I have great respect for the people who live here, as in Germany, I feel there aren't this many dangerous animals."
According to German media reports, the snake that the German national team players saw is believed to be of the venomous "Copperhead" species, which is common in North Carolina, where the German team is holding its camp during the 2026 World Cup.
