تلقى المنتخب السعودي ضربة مبكرة قبل انطلاق برنامجه الإعدادي في الولايات المتحدة، بعد تعذر مرافقة النجم سعود عبدالحميد لبعثة «الأخضر»، إثر تعرضه لحادثة سرقة في العاصمة الهولندية أمستردام، أدت إلى فقدان مقتنياته الشخصية، من بينها جواز السفر، ما تسبب في تأخر انضمامه للمعسكر.
وأوضح الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم أن اللاعب كان موجوداً برفقة أسرته لعقد قرانه، قبل أن يتعرض للحادثة التي حالت دون تمكنه من الوصول إلى الرياض أمس وفق الحجز المؤكد، تمهيداً للالتحاق بالبعثة. وأكد الاتحاد متابعته للقضية بالتنسيق مع وزارة الرياضة، إلى جانب التواصل مع سفارة خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى هولندا لاستخراج الوثائق اللازمة واستكمال الإجراءات.

دونيس يبدأ التحضير للإكوادور
في المقابل، يواصل مدرب المنتخب دونيس تجهيز لاعبي «الأخضر» لخوض المواجهة الودية الأولى أمام منتخب الإكوادور، المقررة فجر الأحد القادم عند الساعة 2:30 صباحاً على ملعب «سبورتس إليستريتد» بمدينة هاريسون في ولاية نيوجيرسي، ضمن المرحلة الأولى من البرنامج الإعدادي المقام في نيويورك.

ومن المقرر أن يدخل المنتخب السعودي في العاشر من يونيو القادم مرحلة البطولة، إذ ستتخذ بعثة «الأخضر» من مدينة أوستن الأمريكية مقراً رئيسياً خلال المشاركة في نهائيات كأس العالم 2026.
