أكدت وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية رسمياً مشاركة المنتخب الوطني في بطولة كأس العالم 2026، التي تستضيفها الولايات المتحدة وكندا والمكسيك، مشيرة إلى أنها حصلت على ضمانات رسمية من الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا).
وأوضحت «الخارجية الإيرانية» في بيانها أن «فيفا» تعهد بضمان التزام الولايات المتحدة، بصفتها إحدى الدول المضيفة، بكافة القواعد والإجراءات المعتمدة دولياً، خصوصاً ما يتعلق بإجراءات الدخول والتنظيم وسلامة الوفود المشاركة.
ويأتي هذا التأكيد الإيراني بعد تصريحات متكررة من رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم جياني إنفانتينو، الذي أكد مراراً أن المنتخب الإيراني سيكون حاضراً في المونديال، وسيخوض مبارياته داخل الأراضي الأمريكية بشكل طبيعي مثل بقية المنتخبات المتأهلة.
وكان ملف مشاركة إيران في مونديال 2026 قد أثار بعض التساؤلات الدبلوماسية والتنظيمية، خصوصاً في ظل التوترات السياسية بين طهران وواشنطن. ومع ذلك، شدد الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم في أكثر من مناسبة على مبدأ «الكرة تفصل عن السياسة»، مؤكداً أن جميع المنتخبات المتأهلة ستشارك دون استثناء، وفق الضمانات المقدمة من الدول المستضيفة.
ويُعد المنتخب الإيراني من المنتخبات الآسيوية القوية التي تتمتع بحضور منتظم في النهائيات العالمية في السنوات الأخيرة، حيث يشارك في المجموعات الأولية للبطولة التي ستشهد مشاركة 48 منتخباً لأول مرة في تاريخ المونديال.
وتأتي هذه التطورات في وقت يحرص فيه الاتحاد الدولي على ضمان نجاح البطولة الأكبر في العالم، مع التأكيد على توفير بيئة آمنة ومحايدة لكل الوفود المشاركة، بغض النظر عن الخلفيات السياسية.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has officially confirmed the participation of the national team in the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, noting that it has received official guarantees from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
The Iranian Foreign Ministry clarified in its statement that FIFA has pledged to ensure the United States, as one of the host countries, adheres to all internationally accepted rules and procedures, especially concerning entry procedures, organization, and the safety of participating delegations.
This Iranian confirmation comes after repeated statements from FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who has repeatedly affirmed that the Iranian team will be present at the World Cup and will play its matches on American soil normally, like the other qualified teams.
The issue of Iran's participation in the 2026 World Cup has raised some diplomatic and organizational questions, especially in light of the political tensions between Tehran and Washington. Nevertheless, FIFA has emphasized on several occasions the principle that "football is separate from politics," confirming that all qualified teams will participate without exception, based on the guarantees provided by the host countries.
The Iranian team is considered one of the strong Asian teams that has had a regular presence in global finals in recent years, as it competes in the preliminary groups of the tournament, which will see the participation of 48 teams for the first time in World Cup history.
These developments come at a time when FIFA is keen to ensure the success of the largest tournament in the world, while emphasizing the provision of a safe and neutral environment for all participating delegations, regardless of political backgrounds.
