كشف النجم المصري محمد صلاح، لاعب نادي ليفربول الإنجليزي، عن أصعب اللحظات التي واجهته في بداية مسيرته الكروية.
وفي حوار مطول مع جراح القلب العالميمجدي يعقوب عبر قناة «أون سبورت»، تحدث صلاح عن تلك المرحلة المبكرة من حياته قائلاً: «لم يكن أمامي خيار سوى لعب كرة القدم، إذا فشلت في هذا المجال، كانت حياتي ستُدمر، كنت أشعر أن الكرة هي كل شيء بالنسبة لي، لذا إذا صرخ مدربي في وجهي في مرحلة الناشئين، كنت أذهب إلى غرفة الملابس بدلاً من الرد عليه خوفاً من فقدان مكاني في الفريق».
وأضاف: «كان زملائي في الفريق ينادونني بـ«الفلاح» ويسخرون من ملابسي، لدرجة أنني كنت ألجأ للبكاء في الحمام، كل ما كنت أريده في هذه الفترة هو الوصول إلى هدفي».
التحديات بعد الاحتراف في أوروبا
وحول التحديات التي واجهها بعد انتقاله للاحتراف في أوروبا عبر بوابة بازل السويسري، أجاب: «أصعب ما واجهته بعد الاحتراف في أوروبا كان اختلاف الثقافة واللغة، في مصر، كانت كرة القدم جزءاً من يومي، لكن في أوروبا، أصبحت كرة القدم هي حياتي اليومية بالكامل، وكان عليّ التكيف مع مواعيد النوم المبكرة، والالتزام بالنظام».
تغيير العقلية والتعلم الذاتي
وختم صلاح: «شعرت أنني بحاجة لتغيير عقليتي من أجل النجاح، بدأت بتعلم اللغة وكنت أقرأ كتباً وأشاهد بعض الفيديوهات على الإنترنت، كان ذلك نقطة تحول كبرى في مسيرتي».
The Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, player of the English club Liverpool, revealed the toughest moments he faced at the beginning of his football career.
In a lengthy interview with the world-renowned heart surgeon Magdi Yacoub on the "On Sport" channel, Salah talked about that early stage of his life, saying: "I had no choice but to play football; if I failed in this field, my life would be destroyed. I felt that football was everything to me, so if my coach yelled at me during the youth stage, I would go to the locker room instead of responding to him, fearing I would lose my place on the team."
He added: "My teammates used to call me 'the peasant' and mock my clothes, to the extent that I would resort to crying in the bathroom. All I wanted during that time was to reach my goal."
The challenges after turning professional in Europe
Regarding the challenges he faced after moving to professional football in Europe through the Swiss club Basel, he replied: "The hardest thing I faced after turning professional in Europe was the difference in culture and language. In Egypt, football was part of my day, but in Europe, football became my entire daily life, and I had to adapt to early sleeping hours and commit to a routine."
Changing mentality and self-learning
Salah concluded: "I felt that I needed to change my mentality to succeed. I started learning the language, reading books, and watching some videos online; that was a major turning point in my career."
