أعلنت وسائل إعلام لبنانية، (الجمعة)، بأن العالم اللبناني في مجال الذرة محمد علي مخيبر أيوب، وُجد ميتًا داخل شقته في فرنسا، فيما تواصل السلطات تحقيقاتها لمعرفة أسباب الوفاة وظروفها.
وكان الراحل يعمل في المجال العلمي في فرنسا منذ نحو 15 عامًا، ويتميز بسجل مهني حافل، حيث كان يتنقّل بانتظام بين فرنسا وإسبانيا وسويسرا لأغراض مهنية وشخصية، ما جعله أحد أبرز العلماء اللبنانيين العاملين في الخارج.
وأثارت وفاة أيوب صدمة واسعة في بلدته رياق بمنطقة البقاع، حيث توجه ابن عمه من بريطانيا إلى فرنسا لاستكمال الإجراءات الرسمية لنقل الجثمان، والمتوقع أن يصل يوم الاثنين القادم بعد انتهاء عطلة نهاية الأسبوع في فرنسا.
وتداول مستخدمو مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي الواقعة على نطاق واسع، معربين عن حزنهم وإشادتهم بمسيرة العالم العلمية، بينما شدد آخرون على ضرورة انتظار نتائج التحقيقات الرسمية قبل أي استنتاجات حول الحادثة الغامضة.
Lebanese media announced on Friday that the Lebanese scientist in the field of nuclear energy, Mohammad Ali Mkhayber Ayoub, was found dead in his apartment in France, while authorities continue their investigations to determine the causes and circumstances of his death.
The deceased had been working in the scientific field in France for about 15 years and had an impressive professional record, regularly traveling between France, Spain, and Switzerland for professional and personal purposes, making him one of the most prominent Lebanese scientists working abroad.
Ayoub's death has caused widespread shock in his hometown of Riyaq in the Bekaa region, where his cousin traveled from Britain to France to complete the official procedures for transferring the body, which is expected to arrive next Monday after the weekend in France.
Social media users widely circulated the incident, expressing their sadness and praising the scientist's academic career, while others emphasized the need to wait for the results of the official investigations before drawing any conclusions about the mysterious incident.
