يبحث قائد منتخبنا سالم الدوسري عن المساهمة بشكل إيجابي أمام المنتخب العراقي مساء الثلاثاء من أجل الوصول إلى كأس العالم، ضمن الملحق الآسيوي المؤهل إلى نهائيات بطولة كأس العالم 2026.
ويعتبر سالم الدوسري من أميز اللاعبين خلال السنوات الماضية مع فريقه والمنتخب وكان مميزاً في أغلب المباريات التي خاضها في منافسات كأس العالم عامي 2018 و2022،
وفي حال الوصول لكأس العالم 2026، سيرفع رصيده من المشاركات المونديالية إلى 3 مشاركات لينضم إلى اللاعبين الـ5 السابقين الذين شاركوا في ثلاث مونديالات، وهم: نواف التمياط، محمد الدعيع، أحمد الدوخي، حسين عبدالغني، عبد الله سليمان.
ويملك «التورنيدو» رقماً مميزاً في مشوار المونديال، إذ يأتي في المركز التاسع كأكثر لاعب مشاركة في تاريخ تصفيات كأس العالم بـ29 مواجهة، ومشاركته أمام العراق تجعله يتساوى مع اللاعب السابق محمدعبدالجواد.
يذكر أن الدوسري سجل 11 مرة خلال التصفيات المونديالية، متساوياً مع اللاعب السابق خالد مسعد وصالح الشهري في لائحة الهدافين، فهل يسجل ويفك الشراكة معهما؟
وفي حال استطاع أن يسجل هدفاً في مرمى العراق فإنه سيكون في المركز الخامس ضمن لائحة أفضل الهدافين السعوديين بالتصفيات المونديالية، التي يتصدرها اللاعب محمد السهلاوي بـ(17) هدفاً، ثم سامي الجابر بـ(16)، ثم طلال المشعل بـ(14)، وعبيد الدوسري بـ(13) هدفاً.

The captain of our national team, Salem Al-Dosari, is looking to contribute positively against the Iraqi national team on Tuesday evening in order to reach the World Cup, as part of the Asian playoff qualifying for the 2026 World Cup finals.
Salem Al-Dosari is considered one of the most distinguished players in recent years with his team and the national team, and he has excelled in most of the matches he played in the World Cup competitions in 2018 and 2022.
If he reaches the 2026 World Cup, he will increase his tally of World Cup appearances to 3, joining the 5 previous players who participated in three World Cups: Nawaf Al-Temyat, Mohammed Al-Deayea, Ahmed Al-Doukhi, Hussein Abdul-Ghani, and Abdullah Suleiman.
The "Tornado" has a remarkable record in the World Cup journey, ranking ninth as the most capped player in the history of World Cup qualifiers with 29 matches, and his participation against Iraq will equal him with former player Mohammed Abdul-Jawad.
It is worth mentioning that Al-Dosari has scored 11 times during the World Cup qualifiers, tying with former players Khalid Mas'ad and Saleh Al-Shehri on the top scorers list. Will he score and break the tie with them?
