اكتفى منتخبنا الوطني السعودي تحت 17 عامًا بوصافة المجموعة الثانية بعد خسارته أمام العراق بهدفين لهدف، في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على استاد حمد الكبير بالنادي العربي بدولة قطر، وذلك في ختام دور المجموعات لبطولة كأس الخليج تحت 17 عامًا.
وبهذه النتيجة، رفع المنتخب العراقي رصيده إلى 7 نقاط متصدرًا المجموعة، فيما جاء المنتخب السعودي ثانيًا بـ6 نقاط، ليتأهلا معًا لنصف النهائي، وسيواجه العراق ثاني المجموعة الأولى، بينما يلتقي المنتخب السعودي مع متصدرها.
وفي المباراة الأخرى لحساب نفس المجموعة، تغلّب المنتخب الكويتي على نظيره البحريني بثلاثة أهداف مقابل هدفين في استاد سحيم بن حمد بنادي قطر، إلا أن هذا الفوز لم يكن كافيًا للكويت لمواصلة المشوار، حيث توقف رصيده عند 4 نقاط في المركز الثالث، فيما ودّع المنتخب البحريني البطولة دون أي نقطة بعد 3 هزائم متتالية.
سجل المنتخب العراقي هدفيه مبكرًا في الشوط الأول عبر حيدر عدنان (د3) بعد خطأ من الحارس السعودي، ثم أضاف زين العابدين الربيعي الهدف الثاني (د5). ونجح المنتخب السعودي في تقليص الفارق بالشوط الثاني عن طريق ركلة جزاء نفذها ناصر الفيحاني (د71)، لكن النتيجة بقيت على حالها حتى صافرة النهاية، ليظفر العراق بالصدارة.
وستختتم مساء اليوم السبت دور المجموعات للمجموعة الأولى.. إذ سيلتقي الإمارات بمنتخب قطر لتحديد الأول والثاني وذلك عند تمام الساعة السادسة مساءً على ملعب حمد الكبير، وفي ذات التوقيت يلتقي عمان بمنتخب اليمن في لقاء تحصيل حاصل بعد أن فقدا فرصة المنافسة على التأهل لدور نصف النهائي.

The Saudi national team under 17 years old settled for the runner-up position in Group B after losing to Iraq by two goals to one, in the match held at Hamad Al-Kabir Stadium at Al-Arabi Club in Qatar, concluding the group stage of the Gulf Cup under 17 years old.
With this result, the Iraqi team raised its points to 7, topping the group, while the Saudi team came in second with 6 points, both qualifying for the semifinals. Iraq will face the second team from Group A, while the Saudi team will meet its leader.
In the other match of the same group, the Kuwaiti team defeated its Bahraini counterpart by three goals to two at Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium in Qatar. However, this victory was not enough for Kuwait to continue its journey, as it stopped at 4 points in third place, while the Bahraini team exited the tournament without any points after three consecutive losses.
The Iraqi team scored its two goals early in the first half through Haidar Adnan (3rd minute) after a mistake by the Saudi goalkeeper, then Zain Al-Abidin Al-Rubaie added the second goal (5th minute). The Saudi team managed to reduce the deficit in the second half through a penalty executed by Nasser Al-Fihani (71st minute), but the result remained unchanged until the final whistle, allowing Iraq to secure the top spot.
The group stage for Group A will conclude this evening, Saturday. The UAE will meet the Qatar national team to determine the first and second places at exactly 6 PM at Hamad Al-Kabir Stadium, while Oman will face the Yemeni team in a match of no consequence after both lost their chance to compete for qualification to the semifinals.
