يخوض منتخبنا الوطني السعودي تحت 17 عامًا مواجهة حاسمة عند تمام الساعة السادسة من مساء اليوم (الجمعة)، عندما يواجه منتخب العراق على استاد حمد الكبير لتحديد متصدر المجموعة الثانية لكأس الخليج.
ويدخل أخضر الناشئين هذا اللقاء متصدراً للمجموعة برصيد 6 نقاط بعد فوزه على منتخبي البحرين والكويت بذات النتيجة 4/ 0، ليضمن التأهل للدور نصف النهائي ويملك فرصتي الفوز أو التعادل لإنهاء دور المجموعات متصدراً للمجموعة.
فيما يدخل منتخب العراق محتلاً المركز الثاني برصيد 4 نقاط من تعادل مع الكويت وفوز على البحرين ويسعى للفوز في لقاء الليلة لاحتلال الصدارة.
وكان الأخضر السعودي قد اختتم تدريباته في العاصمة القطرية الدوحة، استعدادًا لمواجهة المنتخب العراقي في ختام مبارياته في دور المجموعات ضمن بطولة كأس الخليج للمنتخبات تحت 17 عامًا والتي تُقام خلال الفترة من 20 سبتمبر حتى 3 أكتوبر القادم.
وأجرى أخضر الناشئين حصته التدريبية على ملعب جامعة قطر، تحت إشراف المدرب عبدالوهاب الحربي والجهاز الفني المساعد، حيث تركّزت الحصة على الجوانب الفنية والتكتيكية.
وفي اللقاء الثاني وفي نفس التوقيت، يلتقي منتخب الكويت بنظيره البحريني في لقاء تحصيل حاصل بعد أن فقدا أملهما بالتأهل لنصف النهائي، إذ يملك المنتخب الكويتي نقطة واحدة من تعادل وخسارة، فيما تعرض المنتخب البحريني لخسارتين متتاليتين.

The young Green team conducted their training session at Qatar University Stadium, under the supervision of coach Abdulwahab Al-Harbi and the assistant coaching staff, focusing on technical and tactical aspects.
In the second match at the same time, the Kuwaiti team meets its Bahraini counterpart in a match that has no bearing after both teams lost hope of qualifying for the semi-finals, as the Kuwaiti team has one point from a draw and a loss, while the Bahraini team has suffered two consecutive defeats.
