The captain of Al-Wehda team, Walid Bakshwain, has rejected the renewal of his professional contract for a lower financial cost than last sports season. The final decision has been made to not renew his contract, ending his relationship with the club after a service that extended for 7 years with the knights. The captain's armband has been handed over to goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Owaisheer. "Okaz" had previously reported on August 11 that Al-Wehda club did not reach an agreement with captain Walid Bakshwain regarding the renewal of his contract, leading to his absence from the team's training camp in Turkey, while defender Abdullah Al-Hafith joined Al-Khaleej club.

On another note, the Al-Wehda team will play a friendly match next Saturday against Neom team in Tabuk. Coach Sierra aims to utilize the friendly match to establish the technical style and finalize the core players he will use in the match against Al-Ula team on Saturday, September 13, at Al-Sharae Stadium in Mecca, as part of the first round of the Yelo League.
