يواجه النجم البرتغالي روبن نيفيز مع الفريق الهلالي نظيره مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي للمرة الـ11 ضمن منافسات دور الـ16 في كأس العالم للأندية 2025 والمقامة حالياً في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية. وسيبحث نيفيز عن تحقيق الفوز الثالث له في تاريخه أمام «السيتي» والذهاب إلى الدور القادم، فمنذ أن خاض موسمه الأول في الدوري الإنجليزي عام 2018-2019 فاز أمام مان السيتي مرتين وخسر 7 وتعادل في واحدة. ففي الموسم الأول تعادل وخسارة أمام ماني سيتي، حينها انتهت مباراة الذهاب في «المولينيو» 1-1 بهدفين من الإيفواري ويلي بولي والإسباني أيمريك لابورت، بينما خسر «الوولفز» إيابا 3 – 0 في الموسم الذي بعده حقق وولفز فوزين متتاليين على مان سيتي في الدوري واستطاع نيفيز أن يساهم في اللقاء الأول الذي انتهى بهدفين، وفي الإياب بنتيجة 3-2.
ومنذ إياب موسم 2019-2020 خسر نيفيز 6 مواجهات متتالية أمام مان سيتي 3 – 1، و4-1 في 2020-2021، و1-0 و5-1 في 2021-2022، وآخر موسم له مع فريقه السابق خسر 3-0 ذهابا وإيابا.
