اكتسح فريق بايرن ميونخ الألماني نظيره فريق فلامينغو البرازيلي بأربعة أهداف مقابل هدفين في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على ملعب هارد روك ضمن لقاءات الدور الـ16 لكأس العالم للأندية والمقامة حالياً في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، ليتأهل بايرن ميونخ لدور ربع النهائي ويضرب موعداً منتظراً مع باريس سان جيرمان الفرنسي.
بدأ اللقاء برغبة كبيرة من فريق بايرن ميونخ لحسم الأمور مبكراً ومن ركلة زاوية حول التشيلي ايريك بولجار لاعب فلامينغو الكرة برأسه بالخطأ لمرمى فريقه كهدف أول لبايرن ميونخ (د: 6)، ولم ينتظر البايرن طويلاً لمضاعفة النتيجة إذ تمكن هدافه الإنجليزي هاري كين من إضافة الهدف الثاني بعد تسديدة أرضية قوية من خارج منطقة الجزاء على يمين الحارس الأرجنتيني اوجستين روسي كهدف ثان لبايرن ميونخ (د: 9)، بعد هذا الهدف استفاق فريق فلامينغو وبدأ في الاستحواذ على الكرة وكاد البرازيلي لويس اراخو يقلص الفارق بتسديدة قوية ولكن الحارس مانويل نوير تصدى لهذه الفرصة، ومن هجمة منظمة لعب اراسكايتا كرة عرضية لزميله جيرسون سانتوس الذي سددها مباشرة في منتصف المرمى عجز نوير عن التصدي لها لتسكن الشباك كهدف أول لفريق فلامينغو (د: 33)، وقبل نهاية الشوط الأول عاد بايرن ميونخ لزيارة شباك فلامينغو مجدداً بتسديدة من خارج منطقة الجزاء عن طريق ليون جوريتسكا وقف أمامها الحارس روسي عاجزاً لتسكن الشباك كهدف ثالث لميونخ (د: 41)، وفي الشوط الثاني تحصل فلامينغو على ركلة جزاء بعد أن لامست الكرة يد اللاعب كومان وتقدم لها الإيطالي جورجينيو وسددها بنجاح كهدف ثان لفلامينغو (د: 55)، واستغل بايرن ميونخ تباطؤ لاعب فلامينغو اراخو في إبعاد الكرة عن منطقة فريقه وأراد أن يتلاعب بلاعبي البايرن ليقطع جوشوا كيميتش الكرة ويمررها للهداف هاري كين والذي بدوره سددها أرضية قوية من خارج منطقة الجزاء لتسكن الشباك كهدف رابع لبايرن ميونخ (د: 73)، وفي الوقت بدل الضائع كاد البديل ليروي ساني يضيف الهدف الخامس بعد ان انفرد بالحارس روسي الذي تصدى لتسديدته ببراعة، ليعلن الحكم نهاية اللقاء بفوز بايرن ميونخ بنتيجة أربعة أهداف مقابل هدفين.
وبهذه النتيجة يتأهل بايرن ميونخ لدور الثمانية لمونديال الأندية ويضرب موعداً مع باريس سان جيرمان يوم السبت المقبل، فيما غادر فلامينغو البرازيلي منافسات البطولة ولحق بمواطنه بوتافوغو.
