أعلن الاتحاد الإيطالي لكرة القدم تعيين جينارو جاتوزو مديراً فنياً جديداً للمنتخب الوطني.
يُذكر أن جاتوزو، المعروف بشخصيته القوية وتاريخه الحافل كلاعب وكمدرب، سيتولى المهمة في مرحلة دقيقة، إذ يراهن الاتحاد على شغفه وانتمائه للآزوري لإعادة المنتخب إلى الواجهة القارية والعالمية.
وكان منتخب إيطاليا قد خسر ضد منتخب النرويج في افتتاح تصفيات كأس العالم 2026 بنتيجة 3-0، قبل أن يفوز على ملدوفا 2-0، لكن الخسارة ضد النرويج أطاحت بالمدرب لوتشيانو سباليتي.
