اكتسح مانشستر يونايتد ضيفه إيبسويتش تاون بخمسة أهداف مقابل هدفين، في المباراة التي جمعتهما اليوم (الأحد) على ملعب «أولد ترافورد»، ضمن منافسات الجولة الثانية من مسابقة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز «البريميرليغ».
وكان مانشستر يونايتد، بقيادة مدربه مايكل كاريك، قد استهل الموسم الجديد من البريميرليغ بهزيمة مُخيبة للآمال أمام هال سيتي بهدفين دون رد.

شهدت المباراة تألق النجم البرتغالي برونو فيرنانديز، إذ سجل ثلاثة أهداف (هاتريك) في الدقائق 40 و61 و68، وكان الهدف الثاني من ركلة جزاء، بينما سجل لاعب إيبسويتش جاكوب غريافيس هدفاً بالخطأ في مرماه في الدقيقة 56، واختتم الكاميروني بريان مبيومو أهداف «الشياطين الحمر» في الدقيقة 82.
في المقابل، جاء هدفا إيبسويتش تاون بتوقيع ليف دافيس وتشوبا أكبوم في الدقيقتين 29 و90+1.

بهذه النتيجة، صعد مانشستر يونايتد إلى المركز العاشر في جدول ترتيب البريميرليغ برصيد 3 نقاط، متفوقاً بفارق الأهداف على إيبسويتش تاون، الذي تراجع إلى المركز الـ12.
