كشف أسطورة كرة القدم البرازيلية روبرتو كارلوس حقيقة الشائعة المتداولة بشأن اعتناقه الإسلام، عقب زواجه من وكيلة الأعمال المغربية سهيلة الطاهري.
وكانت تقارير صحفية قد ذكرت خلال الساعات الماضية أن كارلوس اعتنق الإسلام قبل نحو أربعة أسابيع، بعد أن نطق الشهادة خلال لقاء مع الشيخ جهاد حمادة، أحد الشخصيات المعروفة في المجتمع المسلم في البرازيل، كما انتشرت صور تُظهر إقامة حفل زواجه على الطريقة الإسلامية، بحضور مأذون شرعي.
«أكن أقصى درجات الاحترام للإسلام»
وقال كارلوس في تصريحات خاصة لـ«عكاظ»: «أنا أكن أقصى درجات الاحترام للإسلام، ومن الرائع رؤية زوجتي وهي تصلي، لكن الشائعات المتداولة بشأن اعتناقي الإسلام غير صحيحة».
مراسم زواج بأكثر من طريقة
وحول مراسم زواجهما، أوضح أن الاحتفال أُقيم بأكثر من صيغة، قائلاً إنهما حرصا على إقامة مراسم تتناسب مع معتقدات أفراد العائلة، كونهم كاثوليك، إلى جانب مراسم أخرى تناسب زوجته وأصدقاءها المسلمين.

وعن بداية قصة حبه بزوجته المغربية، كشف الظهير الأيسر الأسطوري، البالغ من العمر 53 عاماً، أن تعارفهما بدأ خلال اجتماع عمل مرتبط بكرة القدم، مشيراً إلى أنها سيدة أعمال ناجحة، وأن علاقتهما مستمرة منذ عامين، سواء على المستوى العاطفي أو المهني.

Carlos stated in exclusive remarks to “Okaz”: “I have the utmost respect for Islam, and it is wonderful to see my wife praying, but the rumors regarding my conversion to Islam are not true.”

Regarding their wedding ceremonies, he explained that the celebration was held in more than one format, saying that they were keen to conduct ceremonies that align with the beliefs of family members, as they are Catholics, alongside other ceremonies that suit his wife and her Muslim friends.

About the beginning of his love story with his Moroccan wife, the legendary left-back, who is 53 years old, revealed that their acquaintance started during a business meeting related to football, noting that she is a successful businesswoman, and their relationship has continued for two years, both emotionally and professionally.
