يستعد منتخب مصر لخوض ثاني مواجهاته في بطولة كأس العالم 2026 المقامة في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك، بمواجهة نيوزيلندا في الرابعة فجر (الإثنين)، ضمن منافسات الجولة الثانية من دور المجموعات، على ملعب «بي سي بليس».
وكان المنتخب المصري قد استهل مشواره بتعادل ثمين مع بلجيكا 1-1، فيما تعادل منتخب نيوزيلند مع إيران 2-2، لتتساوى منتخبات المجموعة السابعة في عدد النقاط (نقطة لكل منتخب).
حلم الانتصار الأول
ولم يحقق منتخب مصر، الذي يخوض مشاركته المونديالية الرابعة، أي انتصار في كأس العالم، إذ تلقى 5 هزائم وتعادل في 3 مباريات، وستُمثل مواجهة نيوزيلندا فرصة تاريخية لمحمد صلاح ورفاقه لتحقيق أول فوز لمصر في البطولة، خصوصاً أن المنتخب المصري يتفوق نظرياً على نظيره النيوزيلندي من حيث الإمكانات الفنية.
في المقابل، يطمع المنتخب النيوزيلندي أيضاً في الانتصار الأول في مشاركته الثالثة بكأس العالم، إذ لعب 7 مباريات تعادل خلالها في 4 مواجهات وخسر 3 مباريات.
