كشف حاكم مدينة سبتة الإسبانية خوان جيسوس فيفاس، اليوم (الخميس)، عن وفاة نحو 100 شخص خلال التدفق الهائل للمهاجرين عبر الحدود الذي وقع الأسبوع الماضي، مؤكداً في إحاطته للبرلمان الأوروبي أن ما بين 3000 و5000 مهاجر لا يزالون موجودين في سبتة.
بدوره، قال متحدث باسم الاتحاد الأوروبي اليوم، إنه لم تحدث أي تحركات غير قانونية إلى البر الرئيسي لإسبانيا من المهاجرين الذين وصلوا إلى سبتة خلال التدفق الهائل عبر الحدود الأسبوع الماضي، مضيفاً: «فهمنا من السلطات الإسبانية أنه في الوقت الحالي تم منع التحركات غير القانونية باتجاه البر الرئيسي لإسبانيا وأوروبا بنجاح حتى الآن».
في المقابل، وجهت السلطات المغربية اتهامات إلى 86 شخصاً على خلفية الأحداث التي وقعت على الحدود مع إسبانيا خلال تصاعد أزمة الهجرة الأسبوع الماضي، وفقاً لما نقلته وكالة الأنباء الإسبانية عن بيانات من الجمعية المغربية لحقوق الإنسان.
وجّهت نيابة تطوان اتهامات إلى 34 شخصاً على الأقل (بينهم خمسة قاصرين) بارتكاب جرائم تتعلق بتنظيم عمليات عبور حدودية غير شرعية أو نقل أشخاص بطريقة غير قانونية، وفي مدينة الناظور، تم تقديم 52 شخصاً للمحاكمة على خلفية حوادث وقعت خلال تصاعد أزمة الهجرة، ولم تصدر الحكومة المغربية والقضاء أرقاماً رسمية حتى الآن، وفقاً للوكالة.
ووصل نهاية يوليو الماضي عشرات الآلاف من المهاجرين غير الشرعيين إلى مدينة سبتة ذات الحكم الذاتي، سباحةً وعلى الأقدام، متجاوزين حاجز الأمواج الذي يفصل المدينة عن المغرب، وتراوح عدد المهاجرين الذين عبروا حدود سبتة خلال الأيام القليلة الماضية بين 50000 إلى 60000 شخص.
وذكرت وزارة الداخلية المغربية أن العدد الفعلي لمن حاولوا عبور الحدود بشكل غير قانوني نحو 40000 شخص باتجاه سبتة و1135 باتجاه مليلية.
The governor of the Spanish city of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, announced today (Thursday) the death of around 100 people during the massive influx of migrants across the border that occurred last week, confirming in his briefing to the European Parliament that between 3,000 and 5,000 migrants are still present in Ceuta.
For his part, a spokesperson for the European Union stated today that no illegal movements to the Spanish mainland have occurred from the migrants who arrived in Ceuta during the massive influx across the border last week, adding: "We understood from the Spanish authorities that, at the moment, illegal movements towards the Spanish mainland and Europe have been successfully prevented so far."
In contrast, Moroccan authorities have charged 86 individuals in connection with the events that took place at the border with Spain during the escalation of the migration crisis last week, according to reports from the Spanish news agency citing data from the Moroccan Association for Human Rights.
The prosecutor's office in Tetouan has charged at least 34 individuals (including five minors) with crimes related to organizing illegal border crossings or transporting people unlawfully. In the city of Nador, 52 individuals have been brought to trial in connection with incidents that occurred during the escalation of the migration crisis, and the Moroccan government and judiciary have not yet released official figures, according to the agency.
At the end of July, tens of thousands of illegal migrants reached the autonomous city of Ceuta, swimming and on foot, bypassing the wave barrier that separates the city from Morocco. The number of migrants who crossed the Ceuta border in the past few days ranged between 50,000 and 60,000 individuals.
The Moroccan Ministry of the Interior reported that the actual number of those who attempted to cross the border illegally was about 40,000 individuals towards Ceuta and 1,135 towards Melilla.
