أعلنت الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني والنقل الجوي في سورية، اليوم الأربعاء، إعادة فتح مطار دير الزور الدولي بعد استكمال أعمال صيانته وتأهيله واستئناف تشغيل الرحلات الجوية الداخلية والدولية، وذلك بعد توقف دام نحو 14 عامًا.
وأوضحت الهيئة أن المطار استقبل أول رحلة داخلية للخطوط الجوية السورية قادمة من مطار دمشق الدولي إيذانًا ببدء تشغيل الرحلات المنتظمة بين المدينتين كما استقبل أول رحلة دولية قادمة من الكويت عبر الخطوط الجوية السورية، إيذانًا باستئناف الرحلات الدولية من وإلى المطار.
وأضافت أن تشغيل الخطين يأتي ضمن جهودها لتوسيع شبكة الوجهات الجوية وإعادة تنشيط حركة الطيران الداخلي وتسهيل حركة المسافرين ودعم النشاط الاقتصادي والاستثماري وتعزيز التواصل بين المحافظات السورية ومع الدول الأخرى.
The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport in Syria announced today, Wednesday, the reopening of Deir ez-Zor International Airport after completing maintenance and rehabilitation works and resuming domestic and international flight operations, following a closure that lasted nearly 14 years.
The authority clarified that the airport received its first domestic flight from Syrian Airlines coming from Damascus International Airport, signaling the start of regular flights between the two cities. It also welcomed its first international flight from Kuwait via Syrian Airlines, marking the resumption of international flights to and from the airport.
It added that the operation of these routes is part of its efforts to expand the network of air destinations, reactivate domestic air travel, facilitate passenger movement, support economic and investment activities, and enhance communication between Syrian provinces and other countries.
